  1. Dont answer my last question ive found it with the powers of google and a search for "old ferret finder" http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ferret-finder-/250797656852
  2. What did the ebay ad describe it as? other than a " ferret locator"?
  3. Sorry DM but it did make me chuckle I cant really add anything constructive as i have never seen a box like it before, i can only suggest that you find somebody local to yourself and borrow a collar to try, or bite the bullet and buy a collar in the hope it works. I might add that if you do find a collar and get a signal, dig a pit and bury the collar a few foot down to see how well the signal works, before you put the collar on a ferret. What other information does the box have written on it? If there is nothing on the outside look inside the battery compartment
  4. Nothing wrong with them matey, smart looking sticks
  5. I find these are cracking little torches unfiltered for up to 35/40yds, with my eyes anyhoo. Put a filter on and you are drasticaly reducing the beam, like i said initially, only really any good for ratting, using a red filter. For a light weight combination ie ratting, green rabbits etc i often use the p7 on my 3.5 x 10 x 50 WTC and i find its ok to the 35/40yd range unfiltered but it is a strain on the eye. I also have the p6 and the PTF, good torches but i think something like 220+ lumens would be more suited. Imo
  6. I thought they were good for 70yds with a filter
  7. As far as i am aware they target the males. Im like yourself and dont really do much insect work but i have had the odd cbcm job that has been a bugger, lessons learned and a full pronged attack has seen an end to it
  8. For CBCM i have found ficam w with Nylar added works. The larve isnt much of a problem, its the eggs that are the issue. Pheramone traps work well too for the adult moth, you could also try insectaban or deltamax
  9. moxy

    hard on

Calm your passion there a minuet, you may not be able to handle a full 12/24v Get a 9v battery and stick it on your tounge If your jaw locks and tounge goes errect then your on to a winner Mind you, please bear in mind that i have never been caught sticking batterys to my balls
  10. Some nice sticks there, well done. What flavour of wood is the acorn carved from? I will have to get my backside into gear and put some pics of mine up, Watch this space............................... atb
  11. Is that woodchipper a jensen
  12. this is what me and my asian brotherhood use, in fact thats me holding the brolly
  13. Cant fault you there 6pointer. I work on the same conditions regarding traps. I have one farm that without fail old brock takes a couple of traps, yesterday in fact!! Another didnt tell me he was having contractors in to spread fert, nor did he tell the contractors to watch for the markers. After a trap bill that changed The absolute bain has to be golf courses. I have one which seems to have more dog walkers than members! I now use THEIR traps. You cant put markers down for obvious reasons but they still go missing and if they dont the traps get flattened with the mowers. Seems
  14. All my ferrets eat pork and have done for years. I get the trim from the farm 2-3 times a year. They will eat everything and 6-7 jills will happilly demolish half a pigs head in a few days. The only part they struggle with are the hocks and trotters. They have trouble getting through the thick skin so these go to the dogs. I have never had an ill ferret due to feeding pork. Or may i add refering to a previous post, never seen condition deterioate feeding them dry cat or dog food. Mine also get table scraps, they will eat about anything. Leading up to breeding they get a branded ferret jock
  15. No its the strawberry blonde range from " just for men "
  16. Wow, some brilliant pictures there. One of my favourate birds. The first pic is a beauty
  17. Good post, hope you have many more successfull outings
  18. Its easy!!, if your in any doubt, just post it to me, i will take it off your hands FOC no problem In fact im in such a good mood i will give you a couple of quid towards postage. I look forward to your pm requesting my address and i hope the issue is now cleared Many thanks
  19. Everybody is a molecatcher! Its just that some have a little trouble working out what to charge. Myself and morton included Seems we are selling ourselves short
  20. I find it beyond belief that folk will pay a tenner a mole, regardless of a trap setting fee. I am in no way disputing some of the mole charge claims, each to his own and that but a tenner a mole plus trap setting fee There must be some very rich molecatchers out there!! There is no way on this earth any farmer i work for would pay that! You would be well on your way and the next moleman lining up for the work would be laughing. I can do well in excess of a hundred moles a week during my busy period and weather permitting. I would love to think i was drawing over a grand a week. C
  21. What kind of box trap are you talking about? A tunnel with a fenn inside? or something a little different?
