  1. Nice and cold pics there Kay. Some belters.
  2. Nice going lee. Smart little pack you have there.
  3. That's a poor do if your claiming nearly twenty percent are bad. I would be raising the issue with AA With the price of lead being at a premium and the cost of a tin of pellets at nearly fifteen nicker in some shops. I would be straight on the blower.
  4. Have you worked out a postage price yet. Cheers
  5. Have you tried the lamp using the cig connector in the motor
  6. I offered John Galloway a switch for one of his experimental lamp set ups a bit back. You requested second dibs!! Been on the sauce and forgot have we??
  7. A fenn in a loft has never let me down John. And the amount of jobs I have been called to and dealt with where a previous pestie has failed to gain control with warfarin is now getting uncountable. I'm in no way disputing that either the wcs or the kania are not good traps, but my methods are working for me. Regardless of the indifferences over choice of traps and methods of use. It has to be a damn sight better than poison. Atb
  8. I have more success with fenns in tunnels ground set for squirrels. But I tend to cage trap more. If I have a loft situation I will try to set a cage in the garden. Preferably on a fence but every job is different. If I have to set a trap in a loft it will more than likely be a fenn.
  9. You can get nail on BG holders ideal for fences and trees which hold the trap independant from the cubby. This will allow you to put your tunnel of choice over the trap.
  10. Moonlighting I believe Matt and that galv is shocking.
  11. Woodga tends not to grace us with his presence very often. You can get hold of him on the Facebook trappers group. Which you would have to join. Continue to pm him and just wait or get on fb.
  12. Who's slinging mud?? And roger are you still after this deben switch?
  13. Well said OTC. But I fear your words will be falling upon deaf ears.
  14. When you are running a good few hundred traps its essential you know where they all are. And if you have some acreage to cover it makes spotting them that much easier off the bike. I won't mark next to footpaths or on sites such as schools and definitely not on the golf courses. Even roadside fields can be a no no.
  15. Clevis shackle. Similar to the one in the pic but with a threaded pin
  16. The difference between SS bird wire and the galv gear. Matt. I have all sorts as soil type dictates what anchor you can use. But generally a length of 20 mm rebar with an eye. Clevis hitch/unions work far better than spring clips for attaching your teathers. You can just nip them up with a pair of pliers and they won't come undone.
  17. If you have anything about you, you will work out your own anchor
  18. Again another thread on this molecatching forum! Seems has turned sour and digressed from what the original post was aimed at. Well done Tom and best of luck in the future with your ventures with the little furry fellas. As already said give John at fourteen acre a go for your traps.
  19. Lol. Matt don't give in so easily. Just put your hand in your pocket you tight old sod!! I will post a pic of what I use( when I take one). But again these are only used when I'm sure old Brock is about. Traps still go missing and I'm not going to tie everything I have down. So losses are inevitable.
  20. Don't get too confident in the bird wire Matt. I have had it chewed and broken.
  21. I don't have easy access to SS wire. Thicker than the plastic coated bird wire. So I'm limited to 3-4 mm galv rope with alley crimps. Teathered to a length of rebar. Purpose made griplocks and wire work too but a bit fiddly releasing them with cold fingers. Ideal though for cage traps and can serve a few purposes with squirrel cages. You can secure the cage with something chew proof especially to trees and they are fairly theft resistant.
  22. You may need a few strands of the bird wire. The breaking strain where teeth are involved is seriously hampered. Good gear though and versatile in its uses. Think Something a little thicker and along the same lines.
