  1. Wasnt so good was it, got second in the lurcher puppy class, but not really worth the journey, we came away early & took the dogs out. They should hold it the same day as the country show - yesterday was so much better all round
  2. I'll probs be there Saturday afternoon Gin, not sure about the Sunday
  3. Yes, this one broke her leg at 9 months when she was running, she had it operated on and fixed with screws 10 years later she is still here, and still active, not even a limp. Good luck with your pup, hope he makes a good recovery
  4. They'll all be rough coated fella. Their coats are beginning to break now. How are they getting on Magpie - any new photos?
  5. Took the words out of my mouth Ducky, half a dozen walked past my window last night, with a dog each Did make me smile though, they aren't all baduns. I do agree with a little of what baldockbanks says, I remember when my lad was a youngun, he was with a group of mates and was treated like a worthless chav at a local gamefair show, by one of the "well respected" ferreters, and all he did stopping for a chat and to admire this fella's dog....Thankfully they aren't all like this, and there were a couple of good decent lads that helped him out and showed him the ropes. Now he has a so
  6. Theyre a nice even litter Magpie, and look very much like the last litter Indie sired, most of those pups ended up around between 23 - 25", but Aura is small bitch so these are likely to be very a handy size for rabbiting. Indie is 31 kg at the moment, around 30 when he is "working" fit. Good luck finding suitable homes
  7. Thank you Dan/Ideation :)

  8. I have used a full collie for ferreting in the past. She was steady, her nose was very good and she marked well. she is still a good little bushing dog.
  9. ive had some success with sassy. she is an oc bitch and has done a little. she is however to big to be an out an out earthdog. but has bolted a few foxes to date and is keen to start the winter doing any legal pest control. nothing special but does the job and is a first rate top dog There you go a wasted mating (accidently on purpose of course) of a fantastic wyremead bitch to a massive oc dog ! One of the best working lines in the country polluted by pet bull blood dog!..(well done Brian great idea )..job sorted Imo of course,no offense intended. not accidentally on purpose,
  10. well this one would give any terrier a run for its money any day Which of their lines was she from.(They have 2 lines i believe) i cant be 100% but i think she was the older line of the two .im not realy that clued up in lines and breeding but she was a belter Thats the one. Their line started with Coalport Jack [ Inglebrae Ben x Moorgate Red] & Jill [Coalville Billy x Coalport Silent Whisper] Stormy. Remlap was added later.
  11. I asked the vet about wormers for ferrets a long time ago and was told that they don't carry worms and theres no need to worm them.
  12. Thanks Stuntman, I have seen a few photos of your dogs in the threads and often thought they had a look of Indie
  13. the brindle one is 4, the black one is her pup and is 9 months old
  14. The fawn brindle bitch is 23 3/4" tts, her daughter the black pup is 23" tts, just measured her tonight
  15. Some people shouldn't be allowed to keep dogs. What a difference you have made to him, well done to you
  16. Thanks lookup. Its impossible to put a percentage on it, but it isn't high, the collie comes in through a lurcher called Thorn - a smooth brindle dog who is pictured in Doxhopes working deerhound & longdog book. Thorn is out of a first x deerhound greyhound called Blue, and a collie x lurcher from Bedlington - Thorn is Nuala's Gt Grandsire. The rest of the dogs in her breeding are deerhound greyhound, her sire is a first cross deerhound greyhound, dam lurcher to lurcher (deerhound except for Thorn). The black pup has a little more collie in her, she is bred out of our 1/4
  17. Here you go and her young daughter, with a bit more collie added
  18. It was a cracking little cocker Bob, the landowners dog. To be honest I'd like to have seen more of the gundogs working, theres always another time.... JD theres not many grannies capable of getting up that hill, never mind taking photos
  19. While its warm & sunny (well its supposed to be!) thought I'd stick up a few photos of a winter shoot taken at the beginning of the year on the land we normally ferret
  20. Clattered thats a word I like Lovely photo Romany, good perspective, very different..
