  1. My ex-missus did the same I got home after her first night at it to find £30.50 on the table. What tight b*****d gave you 50p I asked. She said they all did!
  2. Bet all the fecking tanker drivers have got their 'stash' sorted so its two fingers to us lot!! They have to give 7 days notice tho and that hasnt been done its us panic buying agian thats done it. We do need another fuel strike to get the bloody price back to a reasonable level as has been said we lust lie back and let the government shaft us dry! The price of 'crude' went down but petrol keeps going up, most of it is tax! I guess it being the end of the tax year may have got the government needing 'an influx of cash', so dont panic buy was a good ploy we all have and lined their fe
  3. Rimfire magic kit is cheap and very easy to fit. Gives you a choice of springs and a spacer well worth the effort (which is minimal!)
  4. I used straw for my springer bitch for 10 years never had a problem. Was always told to use wheat straw and not barley straw.
  5. I was told by someone a few years back that he knew a chap who had used a radio but think its SW you need. He said you tune the radio in to the collar frequency and use the vol control to do locate / depth. He assured me it was possible
  6. I did phone Hornaday regarding the 'debate' on different colour plastic tips giving different 'zeros' and results. They said it makes no difference to the ammo performance. It also seems that most 17HMR rounds are indeed made in the CCI factory
  7. My son lent me her DVD shes a right funny lass enjoy! Went to see Chubby Brown on Friday and he was crap! Seems his act has run its course now he ran out of steam towards the end complete waste of £20
  8. When I started ferreting with a mate we never had a locator we always used jills loose and had a 'liner' (hob) in case of a lay up. If the jills killed or got 'stuck' he was introduced to the warren, after a wait to see if they returned to the call, on a collar and line. This was knotted every yard so we had an idea of how far he was in! Digging was not that frequent but you did have to trench dig and follow the line. Fieldcraft was basically silent approach to warrens and as little noise as possible in setting nets, no talking until the warren was 'empty' And in way over 15 years ferreti
  9. I cant be arsed with the extra mess that comes with 'gut it now' covered in blood and guts aint my ideal day or night! Do em all in one go one lot of mess! If ferreting its easier to hang em up and collect later out shooting, if on foot, the extra weight is a problem if you carry em!
  10. We used to do this but used the snap blade cheap knives from the pound shop! Its a good method if you dont carry a 'favourite' knife. Good cheap knife for the job in my opinion is the carbon bladed Opinel. I also like to let my rabbits 'cool off' before gutting as its not as messy then (blood wise)
  11. Save your cash make one its simple!! Cost of this version is zero (well a tin of beans at best) http://youtu.be/TEz7XK2htE8 This one works as well been very lucky with the one I made

  15. This one is a very good point! Dog men abusing others property and sport in their attempts to prolong chasing illegal prey whatever the consequences. its not your average joe driving the fields mate its the do as you likeys Agree, whatever happened to "go where you go, and nobody need know" its not fair that all dogmen have been stereotyped into the every kills a thrill category, I can still go out and no one would have known I was there, it's the type that, damage property leave what they kill in full public view etc that's caused the loss of others great permission when the genuine
  16. Managed 8 pages but aint too hopeful of more!!!

  18. Show us ya ? Oh and topics concerning hare shooting :whistling:
  19. I was fortunate to grow up in an era when coursing was legal and have watched dogs course hares, I cant deny it was a spectacle worth seeing. I have also been on hare shoots, when asked, to control numbers and have to say enjoyed the days sport. Just seems to me that people who shoot hares, in numbers large or small, get pilloried on here for pursuing their chosen sport. Shoot and hare seem to be words which shouldnt be in the same sentence on this forum no matter what you do What are peoples thoughts and ideas on the issue of relocation of hares from heavily populated areas to the less
  20. Every time a topic concerning this appears on this site it is forgotten that it is still legal to shoot hares. The numbers involved are irrelevant! If there are too many, in the landowners eyes, then surely an organised shoot to control numbers isnt a problem. If hare numbers are thin in certain parts then perhaps there should be, as has been suggested, live capture and release to help the populations out. Great idea but who is going to organise and do it! At the end of the day hare shoots have been going for years, as had coursing, one is still legal the other is not simple!

  24. Tried Privi Partisan in .308 and it's spot on> Might be worth a punt seeing that it is half the price of Hornaday!
