  1. Hi Mate I asked my vet in Brampton if they would dock working dogs and they said they would. Used to be Done and Stevens now called Medivet Brampton 56 High St Brampton Huntingdon Cambridgeshire PE28 4TH 01480 433566 A friend just had his litter of springers done in a St Neots vets (Was Tebbutts) may well be this one Church House Veterinary Clinic Church House, 18 Brook Street, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, PE19 2BP 01480 472032
  2. These are available but not cheap!! Deben do one which is around £1900 My mate has the Archer from Starlight Night vision. http://www.starlightnv.co.uk/ Its a good unit but still around £1600 Just noticed they now have a new day / night scope. Give them a ring he has got on real well with his and their service is excellent.
  3. Spot on about the French mate like you say all we do is piss, moan and pay the robbing b*****ds what they ask!!
  4. TAX TAX TAX TAX When are we going to have another fuel blockade! The government are taking the p*ss as always. VAT going up to 20% hasnt helped either. As has been said its time we kept UK money in the UK and used it for our own benifit and not keep subsidising everyone else! Oh and while griping about TAX just did my bike £50 for 12 months and its only got 2 wheels on the road! Why are they deciding road tax on emmissions! Thought it was 'supposed' to help with road repairs etc. The size of potholes on some roads are bad enough in a 4WD try hitting them on a motorbike!!
  5. Carp are supposed to be a good eating fish! Never tried em myself tho so cant comment. Was once given a good Chub recipie tho. Perpare fish as for any other. Sandwich Chub between 2 damp pieces of ply. Place in oven and bake for 40 mins. Remove Chub from oven carefully remove the plywood. Discard the Chub and eat the ply :whistling:
  6. Phenol based disinfectants are not good with small animals. There are many brands of kennel cleaner about I get mine from a company nr Bletchley. We supply them bits and bobs so its easy. They blend and manufacture all sorts of cleaners etc
  7. Fox bait I recon Chickens lambs and Pigs!!!! You dare go away for even a weekend!!!!
  8. Now I know why you got new wellies And dont go on holiday until they are weaned!!!!
  9. saw a crow today with white under the wings
  10. For ducks an waterfowl an air rifle is no good or not allowed!
  11. Mate has one and its a nice rifle compact, light, quiet and easy to 'adjust' to make sure you are always just under 12ft/lb with your chosen pellets! As we all know different pellets can take you over the dreaded maximum so always check with a chrony!!! As for the 10 shot conversion it can be a pain and not index but generally its OK.
  12. Best thing is Arnica. Available in tablets or as tincture of arnica even cream version. Dont think its good on open wounds tho from memory! http://www.ivillage.co.uk/arnica-good-bruises/78789
  13. Was using Air Arms Field 5.52 in my Titan Manitou. Now using FX's cos they are very similar and cheaper!! Did notice when re zeroing with the FX's that they were about 1" high at 33yds compared to the Air Arms!
  14. Personally I wouldnt go for less than 26" (fairly standard for skeet guns) I had a 25" side by side years ago great to carry and very light just dont like s/s so got rid and got a 28" Winchester 101 Lightweight. Again personally I wouldnt go down the route of cutting down your 32" barrels as has been said you will / may lose all choke depending on what you lop off. You then have to see if it is possible to get it threaded to take multichokes! To me your best option is to part ex the 32" for a good 'field' gun with shorter barrels and multichokes.
  15. Did anyone see Mrs Browns Boys on BBC 1 Funny as f**k here is a link http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/search?q=Mrs%20Brown's%20Boys
  16. Give the guy a break ffs he asked a question as a 'newbie' and it was one he prob shouldnt have ie how to tune up a rifle. Some simple advice would have been a good start but as seems the norm on here as he states ' cynicism and scarcasm have confirmed to me that you dont really want newbies on here.Your all happy with the little cliques that you have formed over time' At least his spelling and grammar is better than a good few!! Now we have lost him!
  17. I rang Hornaday in USA today. The bullets they produce with either red or blue tips are all the same weight just different colour plastic inserts. They send these to CCI who use them in making the 17hmr ammo. Hornaday confirmed that CCI make 17HMR rounds for various companies them included. They could not confirm the powder charge or type used for the ammo would be the same for all brands. This may well affect the ballastics of the different brand ammo. Check out the earlier link I posted for the ammo report from a guy in USA
  18. Was told by a friend who has an HMR that all 4 'brands' of ammo is made in 1 factory! Namely CCI in Idaho. This link seems to prove the point http://www.chuckhawks.com/compared_17HMR_ammo.htm Quote below from text on the link site. 'The load specifications and bullets used in the various brands vary, however, so it would be a mistake to assume that all four brands will shoot equally well in any given rifle' I guess as with all guns once you find pellets / bullets that work with your gun / barrel try to stick with them for consistent results?
  19. The best spade without any doubt at all is? the one being used by someone else :whistling: All spades have handles and anything with a handle means hard work !!
  20. Seem to recall Theoben used to say that Crossman Premier were OK in thier rifles but as has been said try a few and see what is best for your barrel
  21. Once had a 'rescue' border dog, [prob about 3 when I got him. He was a natural at marking burrows, if he showed no interest in any holes then believe me there was nothing at home!! On the downside he hated black labs and alsations would scrap with any he saw! Nothing else worried him and he was stock safe just hated both those breeds!!
  22. Have heard the same from others mate. How difficult was it to do the job?
  23. Transfer fees need capping its getting totally out of hand prices are now just plucked out of the sky!! Top clubs are now nearly all foreign players as well, says summat for the England future!!! Heres a thought as well how about the government taking a 'cut' or VAT on players transfer fees to help the shit we are in? It has been stated in the press that players like Rooney only pay around 3% [from memory] tax on their 'income' f##k em they should pay the full whack like the rest of us have to!!!
  24. Have used one yes have made one for the purpose as well. Its not fancy but the 'method' could be adapted for any nice piece of timber. I got a length of broomstick approx 9" drilled a hole down one end. This was filled with lead and then a plug glued in place. I 'shaped' the opposite end and drilled tho it for a lanyard. Quick coat of varnish job done. Not very pretty but it does the job OK.
