    Please tell me it aint just me but dont all the chocolate bars seem smaller than they were whe I was a kid?? Three to think of are Mars Bars, Curly Wurly and Waggon Wheels! They all seem a lot smaller, and more expensive lol

    Just 'saved' a couple of old 12G singles from being destroyed by firearms dept! One is a BSA the other a Webley & Scott both in reasonable nick and me, being an old softie, hated to see em wasted! Any thoughts as to what they may be worth as may consider selling (be sensible) Will get some pics and model (if any) asap

    Hi mate instinct is the thing with ferrets its what they do in the wild no need to 'train' for ferreting. Only thing I have ever done is make the same noise every time I feed them it can help if you get a hold up at any time when out! You also need to handle them every day from day one as kits to get them used to you. Othert than that nowt to do if your gonna hunt with em in my opinion (may get shot down now lol) Oh and if you gonna use a locator and collar it helps to get them used to having the collar put on.     From memory you can only dock 'working' dogs. You have to prove the use and when docked all pups must be chipped!

    How big is the tree? If its not huge then a ring of copper nails driven itno the trunk low down will do it no good at all :whistling: Or if you do 'trim' the branches paint the cut ends with roundup and diesel :whistling:

    Anyone got a spare 5 - 6' freezer they dont want? have filled one with 150 bunnies in no time and now need more space!! Farm we have been shooting on has way less rabbits but we still see and get around 20 a night! Had charlie walk thro one field with a rabbit in her mouth cheeky bugger!! too far off for a shot but she will be about for a while as she must have cubs somewhere!! Same field also saw a nice roe buck as well.

    Nettles long grass leaf covered brambles and hedges why would anyone bother unless your getting well paid for it as a pest controller!! Been very efficient with the HMR since end Feb and on one farm alone have had over 200!! New permission which we hadnt ferreted by the way!

    Guess not but I wasted the other 10 rounds Oh so nearly got one of the black ones as well, was a tad distant prob 180 yds!! kicked up a dust shower right beside it ! Would have been a cracking shot if it had dropped!!!

    Having 'problems' shooting with my mates CZ452 17HMR Zeroed it and was good at 100yds. Been using it at night on the lamp and had shot real well up til last Fri night. Got the first 3 no probs then missed the next 6! Had not knocked the scope or changed ammo just 'lost it' Gave the gun back to its owner and I lamped, he shot 37!! Same thing happened last night but am at a loss to know what has changed!! May well have to re zero but its his gun !!

    I had a springer bitch years ago and had the same thoughts. Wasnt gonna have pups and she worked well. I didnt have her spayed but after time she had phantom pregnancies. In the end she had a pyrometra http://www.penstone-...uk/pyometra.htm and if I hadnt got her to the vets real quick would have poss died! She had to have an emergency ovariohysterectomy ("spey") very costly!! Didnt really affect her working after she recovered, slowed her down a bit but that wasnt a bad thing!! The choice is yours but I wish I had had her spayed real early!

    Oh dear my reputation goes before me as 'the guy with the gun' so you may escape scott free!! Must be the early morning forays, carrying the bunnies home on the bike and meeting those dog walkers I recon Just a thought on this what about if the 'worrying animal' was one of the famous 'big cats' now that would be interesting!!

    CZ452 is a good tool for the job. They make it with a 16" barrel as a 'factory' rifle. Only loss on this to the 21" barrel is a bit of muzzel velocity I think. Main drawback to going 'short' is the effect of the ammo on moderators, short barels may rip them out quicker ? As far as I am aware the only thing that would need to be done if you do chop one down is to have it re - crowned. Personally cant see why there is a need to go shorter than 16" apart from shooting from within a vehicle. Rimfire magic have done some tests on barrel shortening on '22 rimfires I believe.
