  1. SHAUN WOULD NOT PREFER TO GIVE AMOXICILLIN ORALLY ,MEANS YOU KNOW THE CORRECT DOSAGE AND THE ANTIBIOTIC IS WORKING FROM INSIDE TO OUTSIDE , AND THEN USE THE TERRAMYCIN SPRAY ON THE WOUND AS THIS WILL GET STRAIGHT INTO THE WOUNDED AREA ON THE OUTSIDE MAKING SURE THERE IS VERY LITTLE CHANCE OF ANY INFECTION EVER SETTING IN ,IVE TRIED THIS WAY AND I CAN HONESTLY SAY THE HEALING PROCESS WAS EXCELLENT . Heres another spanner in the works-powdered antibiotic like this does not enter the bloodstream from external contact ,It has to be taken orally then it is broken down by stomach acid and absorb
  2. CHEERS MATE THINK IT MUST BE DIET ORRIENTATED WAITIN ON BLOOD RESULTS 4 ALLERGYS Sounds about right to me.Is the dog constantly licking the sores ,if so this needs to be stopped as it can become a habit.Bandage the paws up for 2 days after applying sudacream to the sores[nappy cream]Hope you get sorted. The dog will have forgot the licking and the cream will take the red sore away.
  3. Pulled a fox out once from a drain that was half slain by the terrier. He looked dead to me so I touched his eye and charlie nailed me across the hand and was chewing for a better grip, until I reached for the .410!
  4. Pre bait a few areas with corn and then wait by them.We used to do a pigsty years ago and by laying out a run of corn down the passage ,on the way home from work,we used to sneak up to the door with the 12 bore and let them have 2 barrels of 9shot. Pigs soon got used to the noise. Most killed with 2 shots was 42 if I remember right.
  5. AYE AND NO DOFFING THE CAP MATE ,ITS A WEAKNESS.If a bottle gets you sport mate then fair play.
  6. Total fu[king amateur.why not take the young dogs out to meet the quarry in its own world .scared the dog will jack no doubt. :realmad:
  7. If this is not a wind up then this type of post pisses me right off. What the hell is anybody doing with a gun that cant identify an English/grey partridge.Perhaps Im too old school but I did my apprentiship with a pair of binos and bird book before shooting anything.Of couse people have to learn but shooting it and hanging it on here for identification is embarrassing for anyone who knows the crack.Anybody answering these half wits is only encouraging this sort of behaviour. This sort of thing amongst others will be the end of country life as we know it. :realmad:
  8. Frain really should check and double check what hes told before writing and printing it.
  9. Would it be true to say that frain has stepped into the fantasy shoes of the late plummer?According to a couple of very well respected terrier men ,his book "the patterdale terrier" is nothing short of liableless drival.
  10. The hornet fell foul of the progress thing I think. When I was younger the hornet was THE fox round along with the 222.As lamps and tele sights have got better ,the 223 has stepped into their place as it is considered by many as the ultimate flat firing ,long distance round, and rightly so .Personally I get more satisfaction from getting close to a fox at night either by squeeking it in or stalking out to a wary one.Shooting a fox at 250 yds with a 223 is not for me as it requires no bushcraft ,only marksmanship.A fox shot with the smaller calibres is worth 5 with a big un.
  11. Old long ears has to be out as she has no bury to get in.Rabbits will wait until the early morning sun to feed on frosty nights. The lurchers are ok running as long as the frost is not yet in the ground .In other words go out earlier. We tend to abandon running about 9pm and try a few rats around the farm buildings.
  12. Doubled up ,tripled up,or packed up you still got to get the buggers close enough,Quality lads
  13. Personally mate I try to keep the dog on a lead when exercising, unless Im 100% sure of no earths about.Rabbit spots can be dug out overnight and all of a sudden you have a dig on when your supposed to be somewhere else.[been there].Some years ago I used to do a bit of mooching with a lad who kept 2 russells. These were allowed to run free every where. Our walk from his place took us past a large mansion which unknown to us was the winter residence of a prominent M.P.We walked the iron railings of the boundary as we always did but on this occassion the dogs roused a cat from the bushes and down t

  16. On a visit to Dumfrithshire 2year ago ,I saw some tiny deer tracks and pointed them out to the stalker. He assured me they were of a roe fawn but having seen muntjac prints on a daily basis around my place I begged to differ. The last day of our stalking ,one of the other newly arrived guests saw a munty from the cabin window .The stalker was adament that no muntjac were that far north. On our way back down south we called in to a pub and got talking to the landlord about deer. The subject of muntjac was raised and where Id seen the slots and he explain that he knew the estate and that the stalker
