  1. I went out last night 9-1.30 very quiet half dozen rabbits and 2 foxes must be the conditions where are u in the antartic  Trouble is theres plenty of game but it all looks the same-WHITE
  2. Has anyone heard rumours that the .222 could soon be legal for roe in England and Wales as it is in Scotland.{im aware that its the velocity in Scotland and not the calibre] The sporting media keeps on about the need for a cull so lowering the calibre would bring stalking within range :11: of a lot more people who concentrate mainly on fox.Whats the difference between roe in Scotland to one England or Wales?.
  3. I think shes a aquater lake land, and the rest is just jack russle terrier although i think there may be some border in there from how short her snout is. All the best Rob [/quote Fell type dog to a russel bitch?
  4. Bad timing [bANNED TEXT]!!!!!!!!!! :realmad: shouldnt speak ill of the dead Banks was a wanker and deserves no more mention on a hunting site like this .BOLLOCKS TO BLAIR AND THE ***.
  5. On the scale of things,if we can allow hunting to be banned in this country then the rag head invasion will march on.They see Briton as a soft touch and who can blame them,we are.Personally I would cross the street rather than piss on one on fire.
  6. Cant beat the combination of dog and ferret.
  7. agreed ... Tricky one this .Part of you wants to put across the truth and dispel myths but the other half knows that judging by the beebs past coverage of fieldsorts, they will edit the interview to suit their own agenda. Good luck on this one mate.
  8. One problem you will encounter with the jills all giving birth in the same court is kitten stealing with 1 or more jill ending up with most of the kits in her box. This can be fine if the box is big enough and the other jills are allowed to share the rearing.Jealous mothers can be a pain at this time and stress is what drives a jill to kill her offspring.Best to seperate jills near to the birth time . Foxdropper.
  9. Only my opinion but I suspect its something to do with them avoiding the mange mite ,which must hang about underground in badly hit areas.Mange has been absent around us this season.Rabbits did the same to avoid the ravages of mixie.
  10. Sounds like a job for john hallet, south wales.best Ive seen.
  11. 42 I tell you ,unbeliever.Hope them rats get right out of hand and you loose the permission through incompitance.NONBELIEVER.
  12. gman-Personally I agree with the lads -hold the dog back until its at least 11/12 months. The dog will work at this age but cases of the dog becoming overmatched and possibly sickened are more commen in early starters .Allow the dog to mature mentally and muscle up before being put to work for good.Good hunting mate
  13. The fox is a true surviver.Ive seen some amazing recoveries from injuries that should have seen them off.Ive also been witness to how adrenaline can drive on a wounded fox.I was out lamping a while ago ,we had the .222 and the lurcher with us .A fox was called out from some forestry and sat down on the edge of the tree line about 1ooyds away.I lined up for the shot on the bipod and pushed the legs into the soft mud we were stood on.The shot hit home but I saw charlie spin round in the scope and disappear into the trees.I believe the bipod sank further as I pulled the trigger.Took the lurcher o
  14. Looks like a straight greyhound to me .Anything added?
  15. Phill Loyd E.D.R.D-specializes in these ,got them breeding true.
  16. Big up your own dogs why dont you.Dogs of this size would not be dead, just a bit scratched.
  17. Right tagwag ,pay attention-open your hand as if to shake someones hand, stick your thumb up and put your mouth in the soft skin where thumb joins fingers.Suck ,making sure you create a seal with your lips. Practice this before getting to the fields as a bad squeal can be just as disastrous as a gun shot in the wrong direction. To be suck-ssesful you will need a good range of calls all done on the hand.Generally speaking ,if a fox is a long way away then a good loud call should get him on.As he approaches ,soften the call as if whatevers making the squeal was moving away from charlies approach
  18. Best time of day mate ,no sane people about. :11:
  19. Rooks carrying twigs. All this is not unusual for time of year.Any snow or prolonged frost will stop any further plant growth until spring is really here.Keep a diary and check it next year against what s happening now.It just seems earlier every year.
  20. Another major fu[k up by commandant blair.
