  7. Fry them as you would mushrooms ,in butter .As said before DO NOT eat when open as they build up toxins at this stage .They look a lot like mushrooms but are bigger and flatter and more feathered on top when open .
  8. There is a lot of crap spoken about calibres and what can and cant take a bullet and whilst im not advocating anyone breaking the law i know from experience that a close head shot would have put that stag down dead .Its not the size of your weapon ,but how you use it !
  9. That is my twenty seventh buck this season mate .The doe season will be hectic i know .The buck in the pic to the right hand side was a 'this years' young 'un with apparent antler growth and was shot on the way back to the farm out of a family group of three .
  10. Dont know why the second emotion took the place of yards ?
  11. Out last friday night at a farm where they were cutting the maize .We were on the quad tonight and had my boy out for a look too .We have been waiting for the cut here, as every fox we see here has been running straight to the maize and the santuary it affords .A look around the rest of the farm revealed only deer .We saw the kit leave the field and went straight there as past experience has taught us that the local wildlife is a bit dazed when this block of cover is removed .Tonight was no exception and a fox ran from the quad as we entered the field .I squeaked and stopped it at yds .A l
  12. A look out first light on a nearby farm came up with this boy .He was too intent on watching a lesser buck to notice me belly crawling across a field towards him .Shot him at about 70 yds .Seems to be the norm down here lately for long front tines !.
  13. ....................Pylons or fences Nice one girl .
  14. Took the ferrets up to foxys place for a sporting break and managed a few . The ground unfortunately has had mixie but we persevered and ended up with 13 .Still young up here that caused a few digs .
  15. A recent trip up to foxhunters ground in the borders proved that every fox shot here is well earned .We lamped for 3 nights before seeing a fox ,althougfh a few roe put in an appearance Foxy took me to a farm he has that hasnt been lamped for a while so hopes were high .Got there in day light so made a stand overlooking a gorse bank [withies !]The scenery here was breathtaking, nothing like that in Wiltshire ! .I had a squeak and a fox appeared 20 yards to my left but saw me before i could spin the rifle round .It reappeared on the bankopposite at about 120 yards approx' and i missed it clean
  16. On a sporting trip up north ,I was treated to a few new sightings for myself of some rare and protected animals .Ive always wanted to see a red squirrel and during a stalking trip to Lockerbie i was lucky enough to see 15 seperate sightings . .Apologies for the pics as they were on a small digi . The last pic was in fading light .There then came a sighting of an otter in the middle of a wood .Myself and foxhunter were waiting for a fallow buck to appear in an area of several rutting stands , when a shape caught our eyes in the half light .It was a large, presumably a dog ,otter that appea
  17. Bad form when you have to ride around the country looking for old digs lol.Looks like you got the machine bucket out the shot just in time too.lol. Joking aside mate ,a lesson to all beginners to keep the sides straight and the top wide and keep a clean camy jacket in the van for the sake of a mud free pic .Good on ya .
  18. If the dogs been 'combi-bashin 'then erichment is the last thing it wants .lol.

  22. Some spot on replies there from lads i know are doing the bizz .The "hardest "dog i ever owned is now long dead but saw a lot of stuff in the sand around us where a bayer would be left behind baying at a wall of dirt .Hard to me is a terrier that is not in the least bothered about the qualities of its opponent and will give /take all that comes its way .A pain in the ass some times but long may they be bred .
