Stalking along a wood edge ,i spotted a muntie in the half light about 90 yds in front .The white rump gave it away bobbing along !.It hadnt seen me so bipod out and checked the back drop .Into a tree for a head shot but ground for chest, so chest it was .Paced it at 85 so not too far out on the guess!.Superb head for the area and what a cracking looker .

Went for a round of the earths with josh today .Tried 6 farms with not so much as a half mark ,though we saw a large dog fox on the second farm and out in that freezing wind too!o .Last farm ,last try and we got lucky .Walking down towards the earths my terrier put a fox out the hedge .We were both caught unloaded and wrong sided for a shot but there you go .On further another fox bushed out in front which headed off teasingly towards an earth but bypassed it and ran up another hedge .Nearing the earth ,the terriers shot into a patch of bramble and baying started up .Shouted to josh to look li

  5. Called in to see what farmer had to say today and he put together a bag of vegetables off the shelf for my trouble . Theres gratitude.

  9. Nice one lads .Nothing more sporting than letting a rabbit take its chance with a dog ,or two ,when numbers dont matter . Was it nearly cold enough for two hair nets though ?.
  10. Deer-roe-£1 /lb,muntjac-£0.50/lb fallow £0.80p/lb rabbit -£0.50p hare -£4.50 Duck -£6.00 a trio Pheasant -£1 a brace Partridge-red or grey £4 a brace . Cant complain about the deer prices ,roe anyway as its the best its been for a while .Rabbits are low but then you cant have it always .

I have been trying for a decent size dog fox on a small holding for a while now but he avoids my calling ,the red,white light and has up till now been unstalkable .Last night ,i went out with josh off the site and tried again.It was perishing cold ,nearly cold enough for two hairnets but being made of better stuff we soldiered on ! The farmer is trying to establish a farm shop with free range eggs being one of the products .He has 30 or so red hens beside the shop but a fox has been worrying the hens late afternoon and has had 3 so far .Its affected the laying too .   12. As regards rats and lights .We used to leave the farm lights on for a couple of days before hand [if the tight bugger will allow]and get the rats used to feeding under a light .feed them to an easy target spot and have a night with the aigun sat in a chair .nice .

  15. Best not film digging me thinks Mate of mine tried an amateur vid but another mate more clued up showed him how easy it is to add remove scenes to produce a thoroughly distasteful production that would land anyone in the dock .

If youve allowed the public on your land at your discretion then you have to be precise in what you will and wont allow in writing .Those disobeying your rules ,and they have to be within reason, are falling foul of commen law and could be prosecuted if reported /caught by the police .Tricky one mate but you are probably best to close the land to all then there is no question of trespass or 'with intent .No byways mean no legal access for bikes ,4x4s .Good will is seldom honored these days .

  18. when fishing you sometimes get a fish belly up in the net after a session and these are fed to the ferrets .Have fed cat,owl, fox ,crow ,rat and of course all the game .
  19. Being in the building trade, its customery to have 2 weeks off at this time of year .Critters will be shot ,dug and coursed almost daily .Cant wait .Have a good one and good hunting whatever your sport is . Foxdropper .

  21. I have a ruger 10/22 and thats the best little .22 ive used .Deals with a lot of game out in front .
