Squirrel_Basher replied to Ryan1993's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Like I said wino ,if you've something to say then just come out and say it .Don't be afraid . -
Prima donnas the pair of you lol.Morton ,one last time mate as I have a picture in my head of something that may not apply .Are you saying that you have terriers that will reverse out encouraging a fox to follow or are you saying they have a mouthful and are physically dragging charlie out .
-
Are you saying a dog reverses out drawing the fox with it

What the f**k you on about .Have a dry day ,collect your thoughts and get back to me .If you've something to say just say it . -
I find many a fox, especially around these parts, bolts before a terrier ever gets to it,some terriers thrive on these situations, another time the terrier will block the fox and then its terrier versus fox, then its shovel or dead fox,a useful fox working terrier will have the ability to draw the fox to a bolt,or finish it. Could just be a regional thing mate but could you explain a terrier drawing a fox to bolt ,not familiar with that .

Im not ashamed of anything I do .I think you are only here to cause trouble therefore I'll answer you no more ,prat .

Obviously you are a stranger to what is best in the first place or you wouldn't be asking foolish questions on the net and revealing yourself to be a bit of a prat .

I feel another blocking coming on ,knob head .

Wouldn't give you one piss head . -
Shovel was a bit builder tbh but job done none the less .Always good to see that wagging tail .
-
Its a fine between a dog getting pushed about because it hasn't the weight but guts to a dog that is balanced for the job . Hole fillers are fine but sometimes can't get whereas a smaller type may get but not have the weight or presence to keep foxy in the stop .I've known a fair few spot on for most ocassions but have no idea what weight or size they were as I've never been bothered by stats just results .I have seen terriers on the big side get into some life threatening tight spots that would of taken their lives but for quick digging and quick thinking on breaking through ,terriers that w

Proper hole fillers mate .ATB with them .

Spend the summer on here putting you messers straight ,oh and a bit of stalking ,deer . -
I for one hate bolts as well as terriers that arnt up with their fox therefore allowing that bolt .If a terrier has first contact mid tube then a bolt is sometimes unavoidable as well as a lengthy run round in a big place BUT if your dog has worked the fox for a while in a stop then it bolts ,the dog has moved off allowing the fox past .Some think its a good dog for saving the digging and allowing a bolt ,personally i think its an inferior dog but just my unassuming humble opinion as always .

A caption appears where your post should be giving me and others the choice whether or not to look at your post ,ideal .I clicked it and saw the plummer attached to a fox .Some may find that pic offensive but i saw nothing wrong apart from no collar ,or was there !.You have me totally wrong with the breed issue ,i know there are types of every breed that will do the job ,its more an owner issue .I know for certain there are those that would have us believe their mutts are dug to regular ,the hardest of all disciplines in the terrier world when i know different .You can rant and rave til the co
-
So whats your point mate
-
Pablo -im not going to get into a argument fella as that's not my style suffice to say if a fox stays and doesn't bolt it will be dug .
-
If its becoming law why hasnt it been made commen knowledge through media .
-
Times and dogs have changed .Except it or go live in a cave as an off grid spoon whittler .Just because we have collars dosnt mean theres a rush to dig the first time the dog stops still .I remember trying to find dogs in the wind and rain and taking a long time to do it .I know which id prefer .
