  2. The Scottish Pokenet, A double pegged Purse net with Wire sliders instead of rings. Purses from both ends unlike the standard Pursnet. Mate get your self some kit and stitch up a few. Its not hard its better than reading a book
  3. Well mate, i tell you what i would be stoked with an effort like that. Looks like you have a very promising dog coming up
  4. Thats a neat little kennel mate, Very good idea. My dog gets free roam of the backyard
  5. Top stuff Vixen! very good little video there. Those blokes sure do know what they are on about. Its good too see just how well they know there target species
  6. Bushes scrub piles, Bugger the purse nets. Best thing i have ever done, Picked up a longnet.
  7. Im sure Mr waters would have something to say about this. Its a shame it certainly is. The few that do it wrong out of arrogance tend to ruin the 'Art' for everyone
  8. Interesting Stuff Nightrunner, I have read an article on Rabbits, now i am talking European Rabbits, the ones introduced into Australia. It has been tested and found out that Rabbits do not track down there food by scent, so adding and smelly numbers to bait or for lure is not going to attract them from my understanding. Anyone else experienced this.,
  9. Too Clear things up, I didnt really refer to them as pests but i understand what you are saying When people are reading they may miss understand. I love watching hares run i truelly think they are a terrific game animal. Around my area they are found in 2 or three's here and there so i spose you could say it is nice to have them around. Its great to see them especially with a dog running them, They trully are athletes, But they can get into pests proportions in particulay areas and cause a few people problems in the rare case. I eat all the game i catch, by dog, gun or
  10. It is a good one isnt it, Is it also possible to take hares in Fenn traps ect... You lads mightnt understand but we are from Australia and hares can be a problem down here,
  11. They are all tools required for the Job. A snare will work better than a trap in some places, A trap in others. When you are in my situation, the are feral animals and have to go. So we need as many tools as possible
  12. Would Doubling up your whippets give less of a chance of injury?
  13. You will saught them out with these snares mate
  14. She looks like my girl is she a Deerhound X ?
  15. I have a locater and they are great. But i prefer the bolt as this is the most exiting part of ferreting IMO, especially when you have a dog to course the rabbit or a Longnet for the rabbit to hit. But I dont mind a dig if the ground is right I just dont see the point of leaving a dead rabbit or rabbits to ground i feel its a waste.
  16. When you say starting, Are we talking about giving them the odd run here and there or are you refering too, 3- 4 nights a week on the lamp
  17. Your a lucky bugger steve!! She will be hitting the sharp stuff soon mate, and plenty of it when she gets the hang And Hares aswell
  18. Abit of fencing wire, Bent around a [bANNED TEXT] bolt
  19. lol they where gutted when i was out in the field. And to my suprise yes that doe had kits, I have done alot of retreive training with her and she will retreive a toy with rabbit fur ect... But when she catches a rabbit she hasnt put two and two together yet. So she needs more practice with the retreiving of the rabbits. I can get her to do it in the backyard but she still needs more practice with retreiving
