True. But the actions there helped create Isis....so I sort of agree with MC hull as well. I think you are all arguing about tiny points that in some cases don't have a true answer. Can we ever really win against Islamic extremism? The best I would hope for is being intelligent enough to keep it from our shores..... unfortunately our governments don't seem to agree on that

That's where we disagree. North Korea is quite well contained and it's leaders wouldn't see themselves getting 100 virgins if they are killed in jihad. Yes.....I'm afraid MC H is sorting of right. Again depends what you call our- waring. I'd be amazed if in 5 years Iran is anything but a breeding ground for Islamists and still threatening Israel and oil prices with their games. I know it's easy to argue with certain aspects of what mchull is saying but you got to admit there's many good points in there.....Id like to bet the above point works out right..... The Islamists in Iran will crawl from the dust like they did in Afghanistan. I guess it depends what you call winning and over what time line. I remember during covid, we went to Scotland fishing. Afterwards we went in a little bar and tried to order a pint. It was a tiny thin bar with nobody more than 4 yards from the bar and bar man. Even if there was 30 Cameronite Tories.....you still need 200 new MPs and a 1000 new councillors. To get them up there, trained, tested, the unsuitable ones weeded out you need to actually win, to be funded and guided. It doesn't just happen on the back of tweets and social media posts. My personal prediction for the next general election is a labour/ green coalition. They are actually the minority, 'we' are the majority. But we got to learn to play that game to get as many of 'our' side in to positions of power as possible. And by 'our' I mean as many as are not far left pro migration as possible. Some might be middle of the road, some centrist, some even black or moderate Muslims or other ethnics.
