Got to agree, think we’ve all had this conversation on here before and had mixed opinions.
The way I see it, if you’re out for a day digging and there’s space, chaining a youngster up is better than it sat looking at 4 walls all day.
Fair point, but with the article saying it was only a small pool, I was thinking chest high maximum? So to me it seems odd for an adult and 16 year old lad to drown too, I reckon they’ve been electrocuted .
Says on the BBC it was unnecessary to have a lifeguard as it was such a small pool, strange one for sure, strange for a grown man to struggle in a hotel swimming pool surely?
Definitely harsher times and hardier people, I’ve often thought the same thing when you come across these old run down places on the fells etc. Todays society wouldn’t stand a chance?
