    does anybody think buzzard numbers are not helping? I dont think ive seen so many buzzards and surely a pair could take a few rabbit a day?

    Thanks mate im not sure the percentages. Hes lurcher to lurcher mostly Beddy grey. Drop of whippet in there and splash of lakey in the original beddy. Quite the cocktail.

    i think i'll only have rough haired running dogs. Just something my old man had ingrained on me. This dog has been brilliant though hes eager to please, eager to work and soft as muck round the nieces and nephews as are most lurchers mind you. Dropped on quite lucky i think. cheers

    Been out for an hour tonight, after 2 blanks I’ve waited for the right conditions and I chose tonight, slight drizzle and wind blowing and now we’re up and running, 3rd time lucky. I know any Lurcher should catch a rabbit but I’m proud of my dog he bought them back alive, near enough straight back to me (little bit of showing off from him) Praised him to high heaven, I must admit after I took them he wanted to get at them again before they went in me ruck sack I told him a stern leave it but he tried it, I suppose to be expected at first? The dogs 11 months old next week so very early days

    thanks for the reply, sounds effing annoying my young dog twice now has refused to be put on the lead and no matter how much swearing i did wouldnt come close enough to go on. i had to sit on the ground to get him to come to me, could of shot him and myself haha

    im in a similar position mate, my pups 10 month old in my eyes hes brilliant but im still waiting for that first kill, i know its in him ive seen the chases and it will be such a relief when it happens. ive been out twice on the lamp no kills, weve got to be patient, Ive been on here and asked these questions and took the advice. I wont be going out again until a wet windy night and will probably have a mornings ferreting in between. ATB mate

    I went and picked a bottle of this up and bloke there recommended the powder. I should of stuck with that. I’ll go and get a bottle always handy to have. Cheers.

    Evening all, Advice please … me dogs run into some barbed wire after a rabbit and this is the outcome? I’ve cleaned it and keep applying antiseptic powder. He doesn’t seem in any pain or any difference in him at all. I’m not a scrimper just wonder if it’s a vet job I’ll go first thing in the morning? Should I wrap it or keep it open?

    First ever night on the lamp for me and my pup he’s just turned 10 month old and I’m just looking for 2 or 3 easy slips. I’ll talk you through it if you care to read. Out the car and straight away a squatting rabbit. Dogs tugging on the slip he must of seen him. We get without 40 yards the rabbit gets up and bolts and I slip the dog. He runs straight past the rabbit and in the wrong way like he hasn’t seen it…. Ok lamp off, whistle softly and he comes straight back. I’m pleased he didn’t start hunting up so we crack on. Over a couple of fields I can’t believe how much my arms aching from cons

    ? aye mines in the house and is easy to live with. fecker will nick me shoes off the rack and take them to his bed. Won’t chew them just takes one. Strange thing but could be worse. ??
