  1. Don't believe anything you HEAR mate, only believe what you SEE !!! Cheers.
  2. Salukis intelligent ??? How many have you had mate ?? Cheers.
  3. How many is to many ?????......... One more than you can afford to kennel, feed, excersise, train, work and pay the vet bils for !!!!! Simple as that !!! Cheers.
  4. WAT IS THE LOCATION OF THE EVENT? Country wide, mate, Scotland to Cornwall ! Cheers.
  5. You keep saying you are going to do it wether the advice you're given is NOT to do IT !!!!!!!...... Just go ahead, mate, pointless talking to you, last word on this ridiculous subject from me !!!!Cheers.
  6. You don't want a running dog...... but you are going to be RUNNING a Staffy on foxes, when purpose bred dogs are readily available !!!!!! You don't want advice, you've allready made your mind up, wrongly in my opinion !! Cheers.
  7. Any amount of Stags/Roo Dogs in Vic that take foxes for fun, so why bother with a Staffy ?? Doesn't make sense to me ! Cheers.
  8. Usualy caused by starting them to soon or running them on quarry they can't catch ! Cheers.
  9. How do you find the silver reflector OS on the clulite, apparently, its ment to fade after a while? My next lamp will be a clulite i reckon, as lightforce has also let me dow a few times.. Frank. Don't forget, the bulb holder for the 50 w is smaller than the one for the 100w, the pins on the bulb are thicker and farther apart !! I know, I tried it !! Also, watch out for the wiring...a 100w has heavier wiring than a 50w, thats why the more powerful Clulite has a straight wire, rather than the coiled one !! Just buy a decent lamp, instead of messing about..... it's better in the long
  10. Been in the pub today with LDR, and of course the craic was about dogs and horses !! BUT of course there will be a drink after the competition, wouldn't expect anything less !! Looking forward to meeting you, having a gargle and a good craic !!! Cheers !!
  11. I have a 2mcp Clulite, but found it impossible to get a decent beam, no matter how much I adjusted the bulb/lens, so I upgraded to a 240 Blitz; no comparison !! OK, the Blitz is a big lamp, but you get a terrific pencil beam, the Clulite fits in your pocket, but lights up the whole field !! Cheers.
  12. You're right, i think there'll be some new found friendships at the end of it!!! Did i mention to you about picking world.hunters up??? Cant remember if i gave you the time of his train arrival......... LOL !!! Thought I'd get the job !!!!! I don't mind picking them up and dropping them at Colins, usual taxi rates will apply !!! (Just joking !!!). Cheers.
  13. This competition is turning out to be more than JUST a competition; I've allready met a couple of the guys and had a night on the lamp with them, and will be meeting more this weekend !! Win or loose, it'll be good craic !! Good Luck To All !!! Cheers.
  14. And that was the short route !!!!! The things we do for our "sport" ! Cheers.
  15. hows your dog running LDR? And who have you got in the comp? He's been alright mate, was a bit swollen last week, but his catch rate has been pretty good on the bunnies, had my nephew out the half term week and he had 16 out of 20, which was his first night out in a while, its hard getting him on numbers here, just cos there aint any next to me, so giving him some bike work, which he fecking hates!!! hopefully he'll perform well on the night!!!! I've got young REW off here, he's got an injury at the min, so we're running a bit late to give his dog a chance at getting right!!! We were
  16. I wasn't going to mention the 'copter with it's "night sun " on us !!!! Or even the foxes that had to be the luckiest animals in the north east of england !! But then again, they would have been ok against these "show dogs " !!! LOL !! Cheers. PS, the 'copter lamped us then must have decided we were legal, which, of course, we were !!
  17. Oh Callow Youth !! Have I taught you nothing , Grasshopper ???? Cheers !!
  18. LDR, as you know fine well, this was the first time in my long and adventorous life that I had EVER wore glasses !! I found the vari focals great for seeing the quarry at the end of the beam, but found them terrible for seeing the dykes and ditches !! I find the fact that I only fell down one ditch, on par with a normal night out !! What you young u'ns seem to forget, I am old enough to be a grandfather to most of you !! Still enjoy it though, mate ! Looking forward to the next night out !!
  19. When he asked how far was there to go and LDR said we were about 1/3 of the way round, his face dropped !! He didn't complain when I dropped my rabbits in his back pack though, he did ok !! Cheers.
  20. The old saying "To Eat Crow", means to accept something distasteful to you; so that should give some idea as to the culinary delights of crow !! Cheers.
  21. Had a look out last night with two of the other entrants in the Lamping Competition, LDR and Lamp + Battery. First time I'd met L + B, a top guy, who's up for a laugh, and we'll definately be out again !! To say there wasn't many rabbits about would be an understatement !!! Never seen such a dearth of rabbits in this particular area, but we did see a lamp a few fields over !! We ended up with nine rabbits only, with honours being equal with each dog taking three rabbits each, including one that Delta took without being slipped, as it ran straight down my beam for her to snap up !! L + B had us
  22. News to me !!! I haven't even run my 1st heat yet !!!!! Cheers.

    Notice

I excersise my dogs on National Trust land, which is 100% covered in pheasant shoots. The paths and walks are well sign posted and the signs read "Please keep dogs on leads when crossing fields IF there is livestock in field" I interperet this as I don't need to have my dogs on the lead IF there is NO livestock in the field !! Birds don't count as livestock ! My dogs are under control, and I beat on the shoots, so get no hassle from the keepers, but the amount of people allowing their dogs to run wild around pens is amazing !! So I can see both sides of the argument !! Cheers.

    Notice

Pleanty of places to go for advice; local council, national trust, ramblers assocciation, ordanance survey, etc. If it is a puplic right of way there will still be rules about keeping dogs under control. Keepers, like farmers, will try to bend the rules to protect their livelyhood, and who can blame them when there are so many people letting dogs run wild ! Not you, I hasten to add ! Cheers.
