I agree with Simo... the quarry didn't run any different when I was using a Clulite or my 240 !! Difference is, you can keep them in the beam a lot longer and farther with the 240 !! Cheers.
-
Whin; didn't YOU have a visit and your dogs and gear taken a whie ago ???? Give the lads a break, it's part of the game...they took a chance, got unlucky with the motor braking down and it's came on top !! Cheers.

THREE MEN FINED FOR COURSING IN IRELAND.
chartpolski replied to TINY 12's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I thought it was legal in Eire ? I was in County Offaly last year, and the land owner who took me and my dogs out coursing said it was legal !! Were these guys poaching or on permission ? Cheers. -
"The Happy Ferreter", I hope I'm wrong; but you sound like a tree hugging, bunny loving anti !! Why on earth question the lads about "taking so many " ?? I know these guys and they work their dogs AND themselves hard to get such bags !! I'd bet 99% of the people on these sites would like to have dogs, permission and bags like these lads do ! Cheers.
-
Just had the same; bought a few chickens of a local farmer on saturday and asked about permission, he said no problem ferreting and would even take me round and see the warrens, but as soon as I mentioned lamping, his attitude changed ! I'll do a bit ferreting and drop him a rabbit or two off and when I get chickens or feed, etc off him, I'll keep trying for the lamping permission !! Cheers.

Doe's it realy matter who this dog has matched ? If it's the real deal; then lads in the know will use it at stud; and if this is all just an internet stunt to bull up a dog, one or two mugs will use it and breed shite, then it will disapear ! So why worry ? In a few years we will either be talking about his prodgeny or saying "what the hell happened to that whats its name dog" ???? Cheers.

LITHIUM BATTERYS, debens monopoly could be over
chartpolski replied to TOMO's topic in Hunting Equipment
They are just a bank of 1.5 volt batteries; eight of them will give you 12 volts, which is what they look like ! I doubt they will last. The Deben is at least a proper SINGLE CELL battery. But then again, I use a 12 Amp,12 volt lead/acid battery, they have never let me down, and I get them for a fiver apiece ! Cheers. -
Why not put a good Saluki over it ? Cheers.

Dew claws when lure racing and track racing
chartpolski replied to B.P.R's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I've got one with and one without.....absolutely no difference in running, turning or owt else !! Cheers. -
my lurcher was killed a ferret by mistake (i hope)
chartpolski replied to lurcher330's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Dyslexia has never precluded punctuation; but is often used as an excuse for bad grammar !!! LOL !! No problem mate, I'm just being facetious, (I think) ! Cheers. -

Mate, none of us are geniuses, but if you put a full stop or a coma in now and again, your post would be a lot easier to understand ! Cheers. -
Depends what you mean by "favourable", Wilf ! The weather has been great for me getting my new yard sorted, but it's a killer for getting the dogs out ! They just want to lie about panting ! LOL ! Typical British, eh ? The weathers never right !! LOL !! Cheers.

MLB & C/G are at my place at the minute and we've been out today buying chickens. We took the dogs from my house to my yard, about 1 mile over a couple of fields and it was boiling hot !! Decided to not bother with the lamp tonight.......... will wait until it cools down a bit. CHEERS
-
And the point of this post is ........... ???? Bit self defeating, isn't it ? Why don't YOU start a post about YOUR days/nights out ?????? Cheers.
-
Well, we bought 8 P.O.L. hens today, 4 for me and MLB is taking 4 down south when she finishes her visit up here. I'll give them a go over the winter; they'll be well fed and housed, so I'll see how they get on and maybe get some more in the spring. The farmer we got them of is only a couple of miles away and seems realy helpful, and has also given me permission to ferret his land... so a good result all round !!! Cheers.

He came on the scene like a whirlwind..... sponsoring shows, putting up prizes, etc..... everyone was his pal !! Then suddenly he went bust and owed genuine lads money that they had payed for kennels, etc !! A wrong 'un !!! Forget getting owt back, unless you are prepared to spend a lot on lawyers and wait a long time !! Theres an old saying....... "Let The Buyer Beware " !! Wheres all his pals now that he owes lads money ???????? Cheers.

Ba, how can you say you had a Bull X that was an "allrounder", but you'll "never find one like him again" ? How would you know, if you never try another one ? I try to keep an open mind on different croses, and have tried most.... but then again, I think your post may just have been a wind up to get us to bite......and yes; I bit !! LOL !! Cheers.

anyone seen these vids?..well worth a watch
chartpolski replied to jonesey's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
The Deerhound/Roe vid has been on here many times before, and to tell the truth, if my Deer/Grey bitch ran like that, I wouldn't be putting vids up !! The Roe give the dog every chance, even running back out into the field !! Don't think that dog would be putting much into the freezer !! Cheers. -
I've said it before, and will say it again !! Anyone who is lucky enought to be invited out by Woodga WILL have rabbits put in front of them, and then it's up to them and their dogs !! A top man who is a credit to the sport ! Cheers.

Haggis, black pudding, white (mealy) pudding !! Great food !! It's a shame we can't get proper haggis here now, the stuff they sell is in a plastic coating, not a sheeps intestine, as it's supposed to be ! Cheers.
-
Jealousy of the pup, proably, mate ! A while back my little bitch caught a rabbit while out mooching, and my Deer x pup went over for a sniff of the rabbit which was on the ground in front of the little bitch. The little'un went for the pup big time; first time ever, but the pup fired back in and put a couple of serious wounds on the little'un ! I parted them, and two minues later they were right as rain, and it's never happened again ! I put it down to jealousy of the pup, but keep a close eye on them now ! Cheers.
-
We've got friends and relatives in Australia and New Zealand who ask us to bring REAL haggis with us when we go down there. They have "TINNED" haggis !!! Can you believe that;TINNED HAGGIS !!!!! Cheers.

I've never ran the Scottish/Blue/White Hare, but from what I understand, they are far easier than a Brown Hare; and some people say they are even easier than a daytime rabbit. I've heard of Lurchers and even pure Derrhounds getting double figures, so I would guess any decent bred Lurcher should have a good time on them ! Cheers.

Ingredients; 1 Roe liver, 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, !/2 lb butter, 1 miniture brandy. Cut the butter into three equal pieces, and fry the chopped liver in 1/3rd of the butter, adding chopped onion and garlic and the brandy. When cooked, put in a blender with another 1/3rd of the butter and blend until smooth. Put mixture into a ramikin, and melt the final 1/3rd of the butter and pour over the pate'. Put into 'fridge until the butter solidifies, then enjoy on toast or crackers !!! Works for me, and tastes great
