  1. I like that !!! Is it EBT X Whippet ? Cheers.
  2. That's one hell of a size for a Grew, mate Cheers. being 2nd gen i suppose it just threw heavilly to the gh side I don't disbelieve the lad; but I've seen any amount of 1st X Whippet/Greys, and 2nd and 3rd generations, even 1/4 Whippet/3/4 Greys that haven't made that size. Of course it's possible, but a Grew the size of a Deer X would be very unusual. Cheers.
  3. That's one hell of a size for a Grew, mate Cheers.
  4. I've got a 29" 1st X deer/grey bitch. She wasn't bred or brought in for rabbits, but takes then day and night. Wouldn't be my first choice for rabbits, but she does O.K. on them. Cheers.
  5. Welcome, mate What area of the Toon ? Cheers.
  6. I don't see why people should be EXPECTED to give pups away for free. If I bred a litter, they would be for myself, family and friends, for free, but that would be my choice. I have been offered pups in the past that were well bred, for free, but wern't what I wanted or needed, so I didn't accept the offer. I also had a call from a bloke offering to place a pure Saluki with me, but his conditions were unacceptable. When I've seen a breeding I like, I have no hesitation in paying for a pup. It's great that people give pups to good working homes for free, but as I say, it shouldn't be EXPECTED.
  7. Are you netting these hares for a purpose, i.e. tagging, relocating, etc? Or are you clearing the land for the farmer, or just taking one or two for the pot ? Unless you can count on the full backing of the landowner/farmer, I think the police would still try to do you for coursing, wether netting is legal or not. Cheers.
  8. Yes it will. It'll affect his prey drive, sex drive, aggresion, and if not properly controlled, it will turn him fat and lazy. Cheers.
  9. Thanks pal He's 4 year old, and the underkeeper James tells me he takes F & R, he stands about 23 1/2" Are you getting back into the lurchers, mate ? Cheers.
  10. Why ? What if they are lost or stolen ? I get all my dogs chipped, Newcastle Council comes to your house and does them for free. You also get cheaper insurance if they are chipped. Cheers.
  11. Sounds like he had a fit thru' running him to hard and unfit. You're lucky he came round, I know dogs that didn't !! If he were mine, I'd have him checked out by a vet. Cheers.
  12. You're dead right mate ! I saw a litter advertised at £250 each. I did my homework, and they were exactly what I wanted. It was a 500 mile round trip, but I would travel any distance for the right pup. Anyhow, when I got there, it turned out we had mutual friends from years ago, the seller insisted I have the pick for £200, and then gave me £20 back for luck !!! A genuine bloke, and I would gladly have given the £250 for a pup I wanted ! Cheers.
  13. Funny how we were just discussing this topic last night........ Went to feed the chickens this morning, and took the dogs with me. On the way, my Deer X bitch, Lima, pegged this fine cock bird; And as an added bonus, she retrieved it live to hand ! Well, that's dinner sorted ! LOL ! Cheers.

  15. The people who are so against a Lurcher taking the odd pheasant... would be happy to see your dogs taking corvids, but the origional question was about taking "FEATHER"; to a Lurcher owner, feather is feather, don't make much difference what type it is. If it's edible; all the better ! Cheers.

Lol Lab, you've either misunderstood me or misread me ! My nearest shoot is 20 mile away !! My dogs peg the odd one around the doors, no where near a shoot. They, and I, are well behaved on the shoots, that's why we are welcome !! Cheers. To be fair mate it's a subject that really bothers me. My other lurcher bitch is welcome on my local shoot, as she beats, retrieves runners and picks up !
