  1. Good luck with the bitch and the pups, Jeff, I know she's a cracking little bitch. Look forward to seeing the pups. Cheers.
  2. Thanks Jeff, for posting the pics, you and the missus deserved to win, (who's winning now between you ? She was putting on a very brave face when I left !!). I have, as usual, put up my usual ascerbic take on the show, on HuntersUnited, but it's only tongue in cheek, remember !! Cheers.
  3. I heard there was still one or two hares around Weetslade, see any about ? Cheers.
  4. Hi mate, hope your'e not bothering those deer in Gosforth Park !!!!! (used to myself , about 35 years ago!!!!) Was it Gin you met, up there in Cramlington, 2 brindle lurchers and a border terrier ? Thats his permission around the "big spoon". Cheers.
  5. Cheers, I'll be picking them in the morning and getting a brew down !!!
  6. Sorry, still can't upload from photo bucket !! If anyones interested in replying the photo is on news and info thread. Cheers.

  8. RATS SHE WAS COURSING RATS IN THE MORNING, she knows better than to break the law Didn't say WHAT she was coursing; could have been rabbits on permission  perfectly legal. Cheers.
  9. Dead right there Pat, she absolutly hates it !! She may have been a bit tired, though, as she was lamping the night before and coursing in the morning before the show !! and she absolutly loves that !!! Cheers.
  10. Genuine question, why were the pic(s) edited, i didn't see them ??? Cheers.
  11. Hi Jeff, Typps class was origionaly for "rabbitting Type, under 22", but there were no entries so he made it any dog or bitch, any size, rough or smooth. While they were perfectly entitled to enter, I though the show Champion and Reserve Champion were a bit greedy entering this class after the main show, but as I said, they were entitled to. P.S. whens your Murton show on ? Cheers.
  12. A very enjoyable little show, well run considering it was their first time and a very good charitable cause. Don't know the names of the winners, but the champion was a very nice, tallish, rough dog, and the reserve was a small black whippet type. "Typp Ratcher" had a class for his own trophy, and the reserve champ won that, (my pup, Delta, was second in that class and also second in the rough bitches) I did'nt see the terriers, but it seemed a much smaller turnout than the lurchers. My only slight concern was that the judge,(Typp), was penalising dogs with dew claws. I prefer them off but don
  13. I'm just starting my pup on the lamp, and being a tight arse I scrounged a clulite of Longdogrunner and connected it to a new 12v 7 ah battery, used it the first time the other night, perfect for what I want, good beam and lasted for as long as I was out. Cheers.
  14. Hi Penny meadow, it's a bit of an over simplification to say non-peds are simply whippet/greyhound Xs, of course some are, but I know of some non-peds that can trace their racing pedigrees back to the 60's, way back to the likes of "Bilko", "Blue Peter", etc. Blando, that 1st picture of your dog doesn't do it justice, the subsequent pics are far better, a really smart type, and don't worry about the slightly feathered tail, many ped owners trim their dogs tail hairs !! I owned a few non-peds in the past and they make excellent allrounders, (racing, working, etc.). Cheers.
  15. Just got back from an hours lamping around the back feild; absolute waste of time !! So many stars out, no cloud, didn't need a lamp. The few rabbits that were knocking about were right by the hedges and ran as soon as the lamp went on. I let the dogs off the leads about 50 yds from home and sure enough; a fox lifted out of the stubble when they were passed it and heading for home ! Still, it got me awayfrom the p.c. for an hour !!!! Cheers.
  16. "Not having anyone telling him what he can and can't do" LOL, he just got to bed at 4 this morning after lamping his "new permission" and I was banging on his door at 5.45 to go "excersising" the dogs!!!! Good job he's got 3 top dogs to rotate!!! Cheers.
  17. Anyne got any info on the Hoff show, dates, times, classes etc. ?? Cheers.
  18. I ordered some lamping gear from Decoying.co.uk, (as advertised on this site), on Tuesday evening, it arrived on Thursday morning, same price as all other suppliers, but they gave me a 10% discount for being a HuntingLife member, nice one !!!! Whatever you choose, you couldn't go past these guys, i.m.o. Cheers.
  19. HOW ABOUT WE ALL CALL A DAY, THINGS SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAID ON THE DAY TO THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THE SHOW, CHRIS WAS THE LASS WHO GOT FIRST, IM GLAD I NEVER WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP, AT THE END OF THE DAY IT SHOULD BE A BIT OF FUN, IVE TRAVELED NEARLY 400 MILES ROUND TRIP AND GOT TO THE SHOW WITH 4 OF MY DOGS AND NEVER GOT A SNIFF, NOW THAT FUNNY COST ME 45 POUND FUEL AND DID I MOAN OF COURSE I DID, BUT ONLY TOO MYSELF, WE SHOULD BE ALL FRIENDS NOT FIGHTING OVER A BIT OF TIN, WHAT WITH THE BAN WE SHOULD ALL BE PUTTING OUR TIME INTO FIGHTING THAT. so lets stop fighting and try and enjoy the shows and if
  20. Jeff, in reply to your P.M., I haven't a clue who Chris is, we are at cross purposes. My only observation is that I dissagree with the judge, as do many people who were at the show do. I felt he didn't give MY dog a fair crack of the whip. That other people appear to be disgrunteled with the judge only strengthens my oppinion, which I stand by, as I said to you, I've been around dogs long enough to know when there are better dogs than mine, but also to know when I am not happy with a judge. Cheers.
  21. Never mind that hunting from your front door !!! When are we going out for a proper mooch, you can't STILL be hung over !!!! (lets get the dogs out, this show scene is making me paranoid !!!). Cheers.
  22. Yes it IS supposed to be a fun day out, but where is the fun when , as whippetlady and many others see what they perceive as blatant favouratism ? Regarding dogs backing off or being difficult with this particular judge, I commented to people around me that this is exactly what would happen as he appeared to be far to fussy with the dogs, this was a Lurcher show, not Crufts !!! Perhaps this was to cover up for what appeared to be favouratism ?? I, perssonaly would not enter my dogs in a show with this judge again. Cheers.
  23. I've allways been convinced that most lurcher shows are corrupt to a certain degree, before anyone asks why I go then ?, it's because I like to meet up with freinds, put faces to names and generally see lurchers and terriers. I wasn't going to comment on the judging yesterday in case it was my paranoid mind, but at least some other people have, shall we say, reservations about the competancy of yesterdays lurcher judge. I felt he disreguarded my dog simply because she beat a dog he was showing at a previous show, I honestly hope he isn't so petty. Another guy who's dog has won supreme champion
  24. Hi there yes it was me \mrs. Charpolski, Did you decide on the red collar and lead? they made us a coupling and made a good job of it and cheap!!!! We will be at Woolsingham and Stanhope in the next few weeks hope to see you again. Regards Pam.
  25. Went to the fair today, nowt with Delta, the lurcher, but a 2nd with the "long legged black and tan terrier" Tango, in the veterans. Cheers.
