Bits and pieces are coming back to me, I think Carson and Indie had Indian Joe in their line, maybe grand sire or great grand sire. Im sure Max will know, I'll ask him. Cheers.
-
Wracking my brain here mate, but I seem to remember Carson being sired by Indian Joe, or the "mad moustaches " dog Bob, which was sired by Indian Joe. All a long time ago and memory fades ! Cheers.
-
Perhaps Shearer was put to an Indian Joe bitch, I don't know, just that the two names were mentioned. Can you remember any of the bitches Indian Joe lined, or any of the offspring ? Cheers.
-
I don't know, that's why I asked. I just remember talking to lads about Indian Joe and the name Shearer came up. Cheers.

Indian Joe; A top class non-ped from, I think around the Carlisle/Brampton area. I know he was put to some coursing bred bitches and produced good class offspring. I could be wrong but the name "Shearer" comes to mind, perhaps the coursing enthusiasts may know some of his offspring ? Cheers.

Adding a GOOD non-ped to any lurcher SHOULD add early pace and speed. I can't see any other benefits, certainly not coat, endurance or "bone". Im definitely not knocking whippets, pedigree or non-ped, as most will have noticed, I'm an enthusiast ! It all depends what you want and need from a dog, but adding non-ped to a line will , usually, add early pace and speed, if that's what you feel is needed. Cheers.

Using “irony” in the correct context ! My heart is bursting with pride ! Cheers.

The dozy deer x would have run past them and into the fields looking for something to kill and getting me into deeper trouble ! LOL ! Cheers.

I usually enjoy getting into discussions, debates, even arguments with the motley assortment of “door knockers”; you know the type, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, political canvassers, charity beggars, etc. But yesterday I saw around a dozen black people and one white women in our cul-de-sac knocking on doors in pairs. When the got to my house I opened the door and politely asked what they wanted; an older gentleman said “we’d like you to help end the suffering “. I looked them up and down and replied “ you look very well dressed, very well fed and sound well educated, your compa

Lord Snooty pedigree; Notice how the same dogs turn up in the whippet side, Rch Kentucky etc, as other top non-peds, then look at the Greyhound side, Head Honcho, Westmead Hawk, Larkhill Jo, etc...... The best of breeding on each side. This is why you do your homework. Cheers.

There's a dog called Lord Snooty which is about the best around just now. I've seen it run and met the owner, he consistently breeds top class Scratch dogs. If I was looking for a stud for my Deer x, ( which I'm not, she's far to young), I'd certainly ask to use him. As for a whippet/grey, I'd just see what was about and as usual, do my homework before committing to a pup. Cheers.
-
I still go to the races, but I haven't got a whippet, just the deer/grey, but I'm seriously thinking about getting a non-ped whippet x Greyhound for a bit of racing and run a hare or two. Cheers.
-
Geoff Fletchers dog, Jack The Lad; A Racing Champion in his own right, and sired some top class non-ped racers, and some top class Beddy/whippet/grey lurchers. Cheers.
-
Supreme Racing Scratch Champion Sky Warrior; His sire, Racing Champion Kentucky; Cheers.
-
They've all been up before mate, I'll try and get some newer ones. Cheers.
-
One of the fastest non-pets ever. I've talked to his owner and to people with top class dogs that ran against it. Cheers.

I don't think the plan was ever to send thousands of illegal immigrants to Rwanda, I think it was mainly to act as a deterrent, send a couple of plane loads and hope the word went round that if you spend your families life savings to try and get to the UK, you might end up in some African shithole ! It's academic now, anyway, as no one is going to be sent before a general election, and Starmer has already gone on record as saying even if the courts allowed it, Labour would reverse it if/when they get into power. Cheers.

“Depriving developing countries’ can be looked at from different perspectives. Yes, I agree that taking doctors , nurses etc from their country can be seen as detrimental, but on the other hand, I’ve worked with many TCN’s who went to work overseas and spent every penny they earned on educating and training their children, who went on to have better, more lucrative careers than their parents in their own countries. I knew TCN’s who were electricians, HVAC techs, mechanics, whose money spent on their children enabled them to become pilots, engineers, doctors, dentists, etc in their ho

Are you going to grow it ? I understand it’s the same family as ginger. Last year I tried growing ginger without any success . Ive been watching a few YouTube vids on growing it and I’ll give it another go this year and also turmeric if I can get some raw root . Cheers.

Farage was an MEP for 21 years. If he was paid £2 million that’s around £95,000 a year, good money if you can get it, but hardly excessive in respect of that place. Lord Mandelson, Labour MP and Vice President of the European Commision will have made as much, possibly a lot more. Neil Kinnock, Leader of the Labour Party and EU Commissioner, same again. Chris Patten, Tory MP and EU Commissioner, same again. There will be a lot of others who have had their snouts in the EU trough so Farage is hardly alone. Cheers.

I was living on an American compound and they had one dumpster marked "trash", and one marked "garbage". I asked the yanks what was the difference and no one could tell me ! Cheers.

I think it's only common courtesy,(how's that, Keith ?), to learn a few words or phrases when abroad, it can go a long way. It can go slightly awry at times though; when flying, I try to find out the nationality of the cabin crew, usually by listening to them talk to each other or they sometimes have a little national flag pin on their uniform. On one long haul Emirates flight I practiced my pidgeon Spanish on a steward, ordering drinks and thanking him. He kept me well supplied and was very attentive, when I was leaving the plane, I said goodbye in Spanish, he said with a smile, " by th

Arabic is a difficult language, there are so many dialects. Egyptian Arabic uses a “hard G” whereas Saudi and Gulf Arabic uses a “Soft G”. There is no “P” in Arabic. My grandson is fluent in Arabic but at home with his Saudi family he speaks colloquial Arabic, whereas at school he is taught grammatical Arabic. When I was in Dubai with Sheik Hamas Ghunaim of “Hounds Of Arabia fame, he kept bringing his friends to speak to my daughter in Arabic and ask them where she was from. With her red hair and green eyes the all thought she was from Lebanon or Syria, but were confused when she spo

A true story for you mate; I had a Pakistani engineer working with me in the Middle East, he wanted to emigrate to Canada but kept failing the English Language certification. This supprised me as he was very proficient in speaking, reading and writing English, as he had to be to work in the aircraft business, I put it down to him suffering from the equivalent of “white coat syndrome “ when he actually sat down to take the test. Anyhow, my daughter was at the time manager of the Wall Street Language School and her Canadian boyfriend was an instructor. I got them to help the

I need to switch on spell check, I’ve been pulled up twice for spelling mistakes lately ! I have a wry smile when this happens as some posts on here need the help of Bletchley Park to decode them ! LOL ! As for mC, I consider it distance learning, a bit like the Open University……I post something; he Google’s it, happy days ! Cheers.
