Evidently Forest have turned down £35 million and want far more as ManU have a big sell on clause . I think clubs are putting a Saudi premium on sales to Newcastle; every time we matched Palaces price for Guehi they added another £5 million, in the end they wanted £75 million, I doubt he’s worth half that, and Newcastle walked away. Cheers.

Sir John evidently asked for access to the ground as part of the making of a documentary for his biography. But he turned up with Jenrick and made a pitch, ( pardon the pun), for Jenricks bid to be leader of the Tory Party, Naughty…. The Toons hierarchy were less than pleased and put out a press release saying they hadn’t sanctioned it. As for all the contenders for the Tory Leadership; everyone of them has held senior cabinet positions in the last government and were complicit in the complete eviceration of the Tory party at the last election, so what would they now do differen

My missus make makes pasta sauce with the excess tomatoes and a bit of onion and garlic and freezes it . Cheers.

I think old John is going a bit senile ! He backed Reform UK in the election and was a big donator , now he’s backing Jenrick to be next leader of the Tory’s. Newcastles management aren’t happy about him basically making a Tory Party Political broadcast from St. James’ without telling them ! Cheers.

Just picked a bowl of different variety toms for tonight’s tea; Cheers.

I’m not Greb and neither is Drover, we’ve both been around long enough and plenty know us . As for your statement about coursing dogs and lamping, that’s a bit of a sweeping assertion. The bitch I’ve got now and the two before did daytime coursing and hit cover no problem, and are back to heel as soon as the beam is switched off when lamping. Bruce the rescue dog was class at both daytime coursing and lamping . Cheers.

I like to spend a few minutes each day brushing a dog. It releases oil from the sebaceous glands into their coats, but also helps you check for little nicks, cuts, abrasions especially with rough coated dogs and can even help spot muscle soreness, etc. It all depends how seriously you take your sport. Spotting a problem early makes it easier to remedy it. Cheers.

And a lot of people with “buyers remorse” wishing they hadn’t voted Labour…… Cheers.

I’m not sure if this is a wind up, but I thought it was standard procedure to wash a dogs feet in warm salty water and clean the nail beds with an old toothbrush after a day or nights work ? Obviously not after every walk but you should still check them regularly. Cheers.

Is that the black guy with the Afro ? If it is he got thrown off GBN for supporting Lawrence Fox when he said something nasty about some woke woman . Cheers.

I agree mate, but a pal called by with a load of freshly shot and butchered roe so I froze most of it and slow cooked some of it with vegetables fresh from the allotment. Food as fresh as that is unbeatable for flavour. Cheers.

Venison stew, crusty bread and a glass of chilled white ; Cheers.

I well remember when lurcher racing was working lurchers having a bit summer fun, hand slipped, no muzzles or racing colours. Now the majority of racing lurchers have never seen a hare or rabbit, run out of traps, wearing muzzles and racing colours. I could see it coming when a bloke told me some years ago that his racing “lurcher” was 1/16 th whippet, 15/16th greyhound ! Ive no problem with anyone working, showing or racing a lurcher, it’s their dog they can do what they want, but if I wanted to have a racing dog, I’d have a whippet or greyhound. Cheers.
-
I used to take two lurchers to my local track and give them a run. My beddy type would fly up the track and grab the lure and trot back to me with it. My deer x would trot a pace or two after the lure then stop and have a look round and come back. Some chase the rag , others show no interest. Cheers.

There’s a big meeting at Sedgefield next month .Max will be their with his non-ped x coursing bitch. There will be racing for non-peds, peds, lurchers. Get yourself along, I’ll arrange a run or two for you, you could have a timed solo, a level run with the lurchers , or I could arrange a run with a scratch dog. I can have any run timed by multiple watches and videod. You’ll soon see how fast your dogs are. And please, PLEASE, don’t start going on about farmland in winter, we are talking simply about speed. Cheers

My era, mate. The who, Kinks, Spencer David Group , John Mayal & The Bluesbreakers, the list goes on and on. Cheers.
-
I wouldn’t, it’s a weak looking specimen. Now this one would have made your coursing dogs look like they were going backwards ! LOL ! Cheers.

Overated Beatles tribute band…… Cheers.

Max should be allowed back on. He’s got some good dogs and he’ll be in a very good mood with Sunderland unbeaten and top of the Championship. Cheers.

Depends what you want ; if you want the fastest dog in the country and want to win scratch races and match races you use a lot of greyhound blood and the very best non ped whipped. If you want to have a supreme racing champion you use the very best non peds. All non peds have some greyhound in them, just some have more than others. If I was going to get back into Id go for a first cross non ped whippet x greyhound as I prefer the scratch racing to the yards for pound racing. Others think that gaining a Racing Champion title is the holy grail. It just depends on what you are after,

The pedigree whippet racing association has a 32lb limit. There’s two non ped associations and the BWRA has a 32lb limit for its yards for pounds racing and Championships and a 55lb limit for Scratch racing. The NWRF had a 35 lb limit for its yards for pound racing and I think no limit for scratch racing. A non ped will beat a pedigree over any distance, there is no comparison, the non ped will win by a distance. Theres only ever been one pedigree whippet that won Championships in both disciplines, that was way back in the 60’s. Cheers.
-
They are doing times now that I wouldn’t have believed when I had them. And don’t forget, there are 12 lb 16” whippets racing and 32 lb 23” whippets racing. I think the breed standard for pedigree whippets allows dogs to be 22”. As I said, height doesn’t matter in non-peds , it’s all based on weight classes. This little dog is 1/4 greyhound 3/4 whippet and races at 12 lb ! The weight classes start at 16lb so has to run off level with dogs 4lb heavier but he still beats them ! Cheers.
-
No idea mate. The object with non- peds is to get a dog with the speed of the greyhound and the size of the whippet, and that’s been achieved over the sprint distances. Indian Joe won titles over the straights and bend under BWRA and NWRF rules so he must have been within the the weight limits, height doesn’t matter, but as a guess he’d be no more than 22/23 inches . Just checked and he won his titles at 30lb, so he may have been a bit smaller than 22/23 inch. Cheers.

Late 80’s. Carlisle area. Cheers.

Yeah, he’s hard work, but I’m a trier, I can’t admit defeat. The day he says “I don’t know” or admits he may be wrong will be the day I think I’ve finally made a breakthrough and I can give myself a metaphorical pat on the back ! Cheers.
