My wife was not into country sports when I met her 12 years ago, she came foxhunting and minkhunting to form her own opinion and enjoyed the minkhunting but has no interest in hunting. She supports me and lets me get on with the dogs/ shooting but just isn't interested in hearing about it. Which is fair enough -
Had a Saturday morning ratting a couple of weeks ago, between six terriers we got around 60 before lunch. Funniest sight was the farmer diving into the filthy dyke to grab an escaping rat Great morning with some good banter, sloe gin provided by the farmer followed by the farmers treat of fish and chips Nice to get out into the countryside, saw lots of local wildlife, herons, hares and buzzards. Few more, oops, first photo was from a days rough shooting earlier this year

Well lucky, I have been involved in traing manwork dogs for several years abnd we tend to leave them entire as we have found that the dogs have more drive because of the testosterone. Saying that a friend recently had his six year old dog castrated and this has done nothing to affect his drive. I have seen a few dogs develop fear of fireworks etc after being castrated, perhaps this is something to do with the testosterone levels?????? I would say if he has already started to work thats a definate plus

Do a lot of ratting around dykes and if the water levels are up the dogs struggle to shake the rat, although most just crunch them anyway.

How about the basics Tony, kebabs with different game on? Not meat but one of my favourites is to stick a banana on the bbq, then open it up and fill it with golden syrup and evapourated milk, no idea why i'm overweight

Pigs Trotters part 2

Mine get fed at 0730 in the morning and about 1830. I pay 34p per lb for chicken wings, 38p for pigs trotters and between 24/40p per lb for mince depending on the content. Couldn't tell you exactly how much it costs to feed three dogs but I got £50 worth delivered at the start of Jan and another delivery now. -
