  5. Yes I read all of Mike Tomkies books back in the 's/90's, mainly based in the Scottish Highlands, with a bit in Canada and one book set in rural Spain. Also try the Highland year by Lea McNally.............
  6. Agree with the two posts made by Paulus.........
  7. i suppose it will be like making love to a woman, Exactly, erecting a BBQ is like making love to a beautiful woman, first you pick the one you want, then you remove the packaging, try and find the relavent parts and slot them together, then you light the fire and place your sausage on the grill.............
  8. Lets ensure this thread doesn't attract the stupid posts and gets deleted like the last one..................
  9. My brother said kind of the same thing about a 1/2 pound special burger from the kebab house on Saturday night... He failed and I made him eat his words! 1/2 lb and he failed, is he homosexual? 1/2 pound of burgers, a load of doner meat, cheese, jalapeños and a pile of chilli sauce.. Nothing to a proper man, I nearly disowned him! I call that a starter..........

  11. Surely a real man carry manage a battery on his back and a 5 mile walk up fell and dale..................................................poofs
  12. With regards to the size of the blitz, is is a little big but there is a loop above the hanlde, just put some string through it and carry it around your neck.............
  13. A £50 battery from golf direct does a great job and will last from dusk till dawn, the only downside is the weight, but i just put mine in a rucksack and also fill it with rabbits, a lithium would be better but expensive. Personally i have a striker and a blitz, the bigger models BUT ther are between -110 so again more than your budget. A lance is more than suitable for lamping rabbits and a damn sight better then a clulite, i had them for years until i got my foirst lightforce and couldnt believe the difference
  14. I have made it simple, clulite are shit...............
  15. Charts is 100% correct, do you mean £100 for the whole set-up? You can get a golf cart battery for £50, a charger from wilkos for £15 and a lightforce lance for about £60.................
  16. I passed in February 1992 and my first car was a montego 1.6l, it cost me £1,250 for the car and £1,500 for insurance, it also caught fire on the way to drop it off after selling it...............
  17. Maybe i can build this fecking BBQ i bought 6 weeks ago.............
  18. I agree, good and bad in all, my lamping partner had one in the 90's, never saw it but he told me it was a decent rabbit and hare dog and I don't doubt his word. Its not just commercial breeders, in fact a bigger problem are those who put any old lurcher over another just to make a few quid, which always baffles with as some pedigrees can fetch a grand or more rather than a few hundred for a lurcher pup..............
  19. All down to personal opinion, i dont doubt with the myriad of litters born over the last 25 years there will be some crackers, BUT personally i would rather increase my chances of geting a decent working dog by getting one from tested parents. There are far too many lurchers being bred everywhere nowadays and commercial breeders are only helping the problem, along with the choppers and changers, fly by nights and messers. The only thing with Hancock is you know what your getting breeding wise, BUT i'd rather find a litter from worked stock than line the pockets of somebody who makes a living

After looking far too many times i'd go with mink..........
