Yellow is the sun .. green is earth ... Blue is Venus ... Purple is Jupiter .. as you can see even though Venus is closer to the sun Jupiter can still be in the same viewing point from earth .

Probably because Venus is closest to us we see it , and probably because Jupiter is so big we can see that

It's the reflection of light from the sun . Jupiter reflects about 35% and Venus about 70% of the sunlight that hits it
