  1. Mine did the same thing, well she was real good retrieveing at about 6 months old, pretty much anything anywhere, and then it all went to sh1t. I kept trying and trying to get her to bring the dummy back, but she just wouldn't. Then someone said perhaps i was over doing it, and to pack in the retrieve training all together. I did this for 2 weeks, then tried again and she was alot better, just did one or 2 retrieves a day and left it at that. Think the worse she got the more attempts at getting her to retrieve i tried, and we both ended up being thoroughly bored of the whole situation.
  2. Had a look at the link, appears to be a pro-barf website, dispelling myths? Tried to look for stuff that was anti-barf before i put my pup onto it, and couldn't find anything really, oh only a dog food manufacturer slating it! say no more!
  3. It seems to me that everyone does BARF slightly different, so i don't think that there is any right or wrong way to do it, just what suits you and more importantly your dog best. My little bitch is now about 10 months old, and has had barf diet from 8 wks. Her diet has included mainly (more than half) chicken bones/carcass, then lamb breast, tripe, minced beef, kidneys, liver, heart, rmb's, raw eggs, cottage cheese, natural yoghurt, sardines, pilchards, mackrel, blended veg (i normally buy a load of veg, blend it up, then freeze it in smaller portions), a bit of milk, brown bread, weetabix,
  4. Nice looking bosc fella, might have more luck advertising on reptileforums.co.uk . Wouldn't say they are easy to keep though long term due to their potential size!
  5. This is an absolute disgrace, we let all the flotsam and jetsom of this planet in, and from what i've heard from ex military folk, these guys are among the bravest, and hardest working in the forces, why the hell aren't we letting them settle here? Thanks for putting up the links guys, i'll be visiting those sites now!
  6. Yep it's legal, might want to invest in some traps aswell.
  7. Is that pup from down my way? I think i told someone else about that litter, and they said you had a bitch out of it. Nice looking bitch, love blue merle colouring!
  8. just nice height mate good luck with her and please keep me posted on how she does, l be interested to know will do bud, if your ever down this way give us a shout and you can come have a look at her.
  9. cheers for the quick replies! Thanks for the link graham nice one!
  10. A mate of mine who used to keep bantams is thinking about getting some chickens again, now that he is back on the family farm, and was asking me whether he would be able to sell surplus eggs to the local village shop, or are there regulations stopping him from doing so. Quite why he asked me i have no idea, as i know nothing about fowl, but i said i would ask online for him, so is it ok?
  11. Well she's just over 21 inches now at 8 months.
  12. Here's a pic of mine, pic taken when she was about 7 months old, still not been hunting with her as she is only 8 months now. she is a first cross, the breeder has a litter of collie x whippets now, but seems quite soon to have another litter if it's repeat mating?
  13. I like the wychwood brewery beers, and their cider, green goblin is awesome! Basically enjoy trying different real ales, but if in doubt, it's always a bottle of newcastle brown.
  14. Goodguy, bought purse nets, recieved in a timely manner, and in better condition than expected! Cheers mate!

  15. my old terrier cross (pet) had his dewclaws removed, when he was about 8 , because they kept splitting and causing him problems, he was given a general anaesthetic, not sure on the price cause he was put under anaesthetic for other reasons, but i think the bill showed £50 quid for the dewclaw removal (2), so would probably be that plus the cost of anaesthetics. This was about 8 yrs ago aswell.
  16. Well i've had to arrange a tee-totalers stag do (he hasn't always been this boring lol!) for saturday. So as he likes his food, it's an eat all you can buffet, followed by an evening at the dog racing, boring i know, but he just wanted to stay in and play cards. A genius prank i heard of the otherday whe discussing stag dos, was some local boys went to newcastle for the weekend, and employed a dwarf to be handcuffed to the groom for the entire weekend! I thought it was one of the best pranks i'd heard of, so look out for short fellas!
  17. Nice one mckenzie, i'll include the shirt off my back, and bend over aswell. what a clown!
  18. I blame that suspended camera, sneeky frogs! Seriously they deserved the win.
  19. very nice mate, are the rock faces exo-terra?
  20. Suppose it depends on the job your going for really, and whether or not it has any relavance. To be honest i've always found careers advisor terrible, have made stupid suggestions, and misinformed me. Got to ask yourself if they are so good at advising on careers why are they still a careers advisor?
  21. I wouldn't have said that she was nervy at all really, however she is my first lurcher, so i have little experience with other crosses. I think it probably depends on the temprement on the collie side, i've seen collies look and behave very differently from farm to farm. If you want something to be less collie like, perhaps go for a 3/4whippet? Having said that a mate of mine has a collie whippet grey (1/4 collie), and he's more nervy than sky. She has been a lot easier to train basic obedience than my old terrier was. Just hope she makes a reasonable worker!
  22. whippet x collie, stands about 21 inches.
  23. Haven't put any pics of my pup up since i got here 5/6 months ago, so i just thought i'd put a few up from todays walk. Sorry about the quality, but it was crappy me using the camera on my crappy phone. Does she look alright to you folks?
