The thing I like about Lurcher Link is that they will let discussions run about hunting, working etc etc and be prepared to let both sides view their opinions. It has patrons that are pro hunting/working and those that are anti hunting too but the most important thing over all of the threads on that forum is the dogs and their welfare! Far too many forums these days let the rescue aspect almost take a back seat while they fight amongst themselves about the wrongs of anyone that doesn't agree with them! I remember that Shot, the site in question are very anti working/hunting/breeding etc indeed. I never did get a reply when I pmed the girl about your dog either.

SLR are a pretty new rescue and although they came about because of LL it is seperate to them. I have heard mixed views on SLR but i've not had any negative dealings with them myself. Could Kaye not help you via LL, I know they are pretty full at the moment.

One of the forums I go on will assess the dog and the situation and if ferreting is something that the prospective owners do they won't rule it out if it suits the dog.

On all of the rescue forums I go on people know I hunt, some accept it and some don't. My reason for being there is to try and help dogs and if people don't want my help because of my views then so be it. As I said, some forums are more pro working etc than others. What was the forum you joined if you don't mind me asking? PM me if its easier. I didn't mean to sound as though I thought you didn't respect what rescues do, that wasn't my view at all.

I do a bit of work for rescues, mostly lurcher and greyhounds and yes, some rescues will take against you if you are someone that works thier dogs. It depends where you go, PM me and I can give you the details of some sites if you like. The main rescue I help will rehome to working homes, if it suits the dog but she mostly deals with track greyhounds. I did foster a lovely little beddiexwhippet for her recently that went off to a working home and now spends his days rabbiting! That is shitty! I'd agree with those that said it was antis too unfortunately, b*****ds! Try the police, they might get of their asses and do something noteworthy for once although lets not hold our breath eh.

My daughter is hoping to wake up to Snow. I must admit I do love the snow but only if I don't have stuff to do. It was really icey here about 10 or so days ago but then it warmed up again.

Yep, potatoes are toxic. I'm not sure which animals they are toxic to but certainly dogs and horses.

Onions are a big no no for dogs! As are potatos, tomatos and grapes too. All toxic.

Snap Shot i've only ever come across one person that had heard of Beth Hart and liked her music other then the person the introduced me to her stuff. I love the stuff she writes, her new album is brilliant!

My sister had an old one and my mum had the newer one when they were still produced and I drove both of them without a bad thing to say about either. Quite popular in the west country apparently.

The Chid and Lec had over 200 mounted and around 1000 on foot, the Crawley and Horsham was very well supported too, probably around the same number.
