  1. My lurcher was exactly the same. Still is given the chance but the bin is now in a locked cupboard. The fridge has childlocks on it etc etc etc. Only thing he hasn't worked out yet is how to open the bloody microwave!
  2. I think I took my daughter hunting when she was months old but only to follow hounds on foot. I guess it depends on your own personal preference, and what activities you are talking about. I've been as honest as possible with her since she was old enough to understand about what happened when we followed hounds pre ban and she was fine.

    Your Families

I grew up on a beef farm and have hunted with my mum for as long as I can remember. My dad always went shooting and my sister and I used to beat. My sister has whipped in to various beagle and minkhound packs and now my dad hunts with foxhounds, beagles, minkhounds and staghounds. I suppose you could say my family are pretty into country sports. One thing I have never done is fishing but I have to get over my odd fear of fish I think before that happens.

    sat nav voices

I don't have sat nav in my car but i'd have Jeremy Irons if I did I think!
  7. My daughter is 6 and loves going hunting with me. She loves following the foxhounds, i'm yet to get her out on horseback though. She helped her aunty whip in to Minkhounds one day a couple of summers ago and loved it. Unfortunately my sister has moved to Scotland now with her OH so doesn't whip in but we still follow sometimes.
  8. Thats terrible! So sorry. I hope the same comes to those b*****ds!
  9. I must admit, rugby does interfere with hunting but I try and do both on a sat if I can. I can't miss many games out of the season as I write the press reports too and they complain if one of them has to do it! Bless em...
  10. Good to hear Rolfe, nothing like a good battering on a saturday afternoon to keep the circlation flowing eh?! We only have one senior side. Well one side altogether actually, we're only a little team in a fairly low league but we have a good time and we're having a good season!
  11. One of our lads has been saying that for as long as i've known him, about 10 years! Our oldest player has just turned 50 and was captain last year.
  12. I have a 6yr old daughter that takes up a fair bit of time along with the dogs. Ride horses, am the secretary for a rugby team, off to HQ in feb to watch England VS Wales! If I have any spare time after that then a relaxing evening in the pub with a few JD's is always welcome!

    vets

Just a suggestion, someone I know with lurchers doesn't insure them but each month puts money aside that would be used for insurance for instances such as this. I agree that £750 is very high for stiching a wound but any of us with lurchers could find ourselves in this sort of position as they are so thin skinned and accidents happen, even illness another friend has just had a £1500 bill for her lurcher that suffered from Pyothorax. Luckily insured but she's having trouble now getting the insurers to pay out.

My vets are great. I can take my dogs in without an appointment as an emergency and they will take them straight in with no worries about the bill until the treatment is completed. I'm very lucky to have such a good vet, when my grey broke her tail they wanted to amputate but I wasn't keen and instead of pushing for amputation they let me try and save the tail and I did, with their help.

    Facebook.

I don't spend every waking moment on it. I've caught up with old friends from school and a few people that had moved away and i'd lost contact with too. And the odd ex which is a bit odd at times.

    Facebook.

I have MySpace but rarely use it to be honest. Most of the friends I have on there are bands so I use it to keep up with what they are doing mostly.

    Facebook.

I don't have Bebo, I didn't like it. Facebook is a social networking site and a highly addictive one at that. I was introduced to it by a mate and that was that!

Getting randomly poked by oddbods and having sheep thrown at me is only fun for so long though!

    Facebook.

Is anyone on here as addicted to Facebook as I am?! I spend far too much time on it when i'm here on my own. Is anyone else going to admit to having it?
  21. My friend was here and watching it but I had my back to the TV. I can't abide BB anymore, rather than be a psychological experiment its become a psychological nightmare. Edited for my dismall spelling!
  22. Its not always suitable for a dog to go into a working home due to injury or something in its past etc but any good rescue will match a dog to a suitable home be it a pet home or otherwise.
  23. The site I was banned from was before I was an LL member and i've not (that I know of) been banned from any other sites because I use LL although I did remove myself from one Sighthound forum because I couldn't take their narrow mindedness anymore! My dogs currently aren't worked, I am looking to do some work with my lurcher but like with Madmac's pup he came with an awful lot of baggage and even though he is now 3 and been with me for two years he still has some issues, who knows what he went through in the six months before he was picked up by rescue. The other two are ex track dogs, on
