  1. Thanks Lurcher-Lass. I need to try and get one of my bird of paradise, I love it and everyone that sees it really likes it but being all down my back it doesn't get shown off properly very often!
  2. As far as i'm concerned lifes too short to worry about what the tattoos will look like in 50 odd years time. I did think about having them done before I did them though, I thought a lot about what to have and where although with the latest I didn't have a final design until I sat down in the studio. My tattooist is great though!
  3. I'm with you there Miss T, the one on my back took two and a half hours and is right down my spine but it didn't really bother me. The most painful one was probably the fairy but it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.
  4. Snaps I am an angel at all times..! My piercings didn't heal up very quickly, I took my tongue stud out for 3 days after having surgery and still got it back in with no problems. My belly bar can be taken out for months at time and go back fairly easily too.
  5. Its close here. We need a good old thunderstorm!
  6. Apparently in the area of Cornwall where my MUm and her OH have their barn there was a problem with Buzzards attacking cyclists. Lovely photos.
  7. I have 5 and am planning my sixth. I have a devil on my hip, a dragon on my arm, a tribal design at the base of my spine, a phoenix all down my back and the latest, a fairy on my wrist. I had it done last tuesday...
  8. Thanks for all the tips everyone. I'm not worried about breeding as they are for my daughter so rescues that are neutered don't bother me, in fact it may make life easier. I've already been told I can have one of the stables for them so thats where they'll go but I need a run inside there as the stable itself isn't secure but its dry and sheltered for them. Thanks again everyone, i'll get everything sorted out over the next few weeks and let you all know how we get on!

    tatoos

I use savlon on all of mine.
  10. she will get bored with them as pets and want to start getting him in warrens and catching its tea! lol. Where are you getting the fert from? I'm not sure yet, I know there are some ferret rescues locally but i'll look into it in more detail when we're actually ready to get them. I've already said we'll probably get a pair as i've heard they are quite social animals. My dad always kept more than one. Is it best to have one of each sex or can 2 hobs or 2 jills be kept together without fighting? My dad knows far more about them than I do but I want to do this properly and get as m
  11. Thanks for that. She wants them for pets BRB. I suppose she could use them with my lurcher in time but the intention is as pets.
  12. When I got my lurcher and my young grey they wouldn't touch raw food. I found that if I got a little bit of meat and warmed it slightly it made it more biddable for them. Mine love chicken wings but if they've never had them then they might need to get used to what they are, maybe try them again once he'she gets used to eating the raw meat. Edited to add: Cooked bones, especially chicken can splinter and cause problems and tears etc. I don't feed any cooked bones to my lot.
  13. Note that in my post I stated not to put the tape on the dog, only on the sock. Perhaps I was not clear enough: DON'T PUT DUCT TAPE ON YOUR DOG'S SKIN. Its ok, I know what you meant.
  14. My daughter has decided that she wants to keep ferrets. I can't keep them here as I don't have the room and I KNOW that my greyhound bitch would eat them so I told her to speak to my dad who has said provided she gets everything she needs she can keep them at the farm... He kept ferrets when we were children, I had a pet polecat but what I want is a bit of advice on starting with them, everything that I need and any advice you guys have. I'm hoping to get my lurcher steady to ferrets too and from his reaction to them at the weekend I think he'll be ok so they will serve a dual purpose
  15. Thanks for all the comments guys. With any of the others I would just leave them to it as I know that dog saliva can have healing properties but her teeth are very bad and I don't want her getting anything in there. The lurcher has also become nurse maid though and he does clean it for her too. I will try the sock along with the germolene and see how she goes.
  16. I won't be watching. Football bores the pants off me! Give me the rugby any day though!
  17. Thanks Little Lurcher, I use Lavender oil a lot on myself and my daughter anyway so i'll try that and get some germolene tomorrow.
  18. Hi, yeah so far as I know Angus is still terrier man, he was last season anyhow. Thank you for the tip, its not really patching up I need, just something to keep her from licking the leg and stopping it from healing. I shall remember that though, cheers.
  19. The wound is about the size of a 10p and jsut above her knee. There is no flap of skin, it can't be stictched or glued, I just have to leave it open to heal unless I have skin grafts etc which apparently often don't work with greys. I tried the muzzle and she did more harm than good. I've also tried the liquid plasters too, she just attacks it till she can lick the wound again. I think I need something that won't do the wound any harm but will put her off licking at it. It is getting better, I was treating it myself but because it didn't seem to be healing well and she was lame on that
  20. My greyhound bitch has an open cut that can't be stiched, she's been given some abs etc from the vet but I need to stop her from licking it so it can heal and it can't be covered as it doesn't start healing. Does anyone has any ideas? All the vet could suggest was a plastic collar but she won't tolerate it and goes mad so can anyone suggest anything else? Everything i've tried so far she just licks off.
  21. My dad has a collieXhuntaway that has been handy over the years. She is 10 now but has been an excellent cattle dog aswell as catching a few rabbits etc. It is true that they were bred to use their voice, it could prove a problem in the field as said.

    spring watch

I can't watch it. I detest Bill Oddie. I'm sure Springwatch is quite good but I refuse to watch anything presented by that arrogant little arse!
  23. Thank you, I shall try those things.
  24. My laptop wouldn't play the youtube video properly but I went onto the Myspace page, very good! Your brother has a real talent! I liked it.
