Thanks si. So it can with little fuss and the right scope cover night duties and free the rifle for normal daylight use.

It won't be packhams work. He is just the mouth like professor Brian Cox.....if he is a professor then I'm a genius!

I doubt very much it is the dim red glow they see mate. I've had them detect it with lots of background light sources which I'm sorry to say for the panels sake blows the theory out of the water! Up close to a trail camera maybe due to the number of lad's and in close proximity. I dunno except for some of them are very smart indeed. I have watched them listening to electric fences and know exactly when to dart through! Maybe the panel can explain that? Yours truly A. Novice.

They have tried it but the fox goes ape when they insert the Jack plug! I do my utmost to not haughtily think man knows everything. Why, because if we did where fox's are concerned we would of iradicated them by now with all this tech but we ain't!

Its energy. Energy can be detected in many ways and converted in many ways.

How much fuss is it ben taking a 007 off and putting it on again? What about the eye relief change? Does it screw up holding the rifle for a shot?

Corner shop ont way t'bingo!

Ok Dave calm down lad. Eastenders isn't real. ?

Lol but to be quite honest I have been wondering what it is they detect. I've had several detect the ir on my spotter. Meece maybe onto something, let's not forget their hearing range is far greater than ours!
-
It's quite tricky. Where I can only park and wait means I'm shooting towards the house! Sounds awful I know but it's not that bad IF the fox steps into THE zone where upon there is a barricaded back stop!

Well I'm still playing with her. She comes to bait around 10:30 but the security light isn't triggered by it. I have a battery operated small security light I'm going to fix. In one photo its checking the trail cameras ir illuminators! So I fear nv might not work. Meet slinky 2!

What is the quality like in day light? There is an issue with price too?
-
Why the low mag mate? Will a vary mag do?
-
So I can pop this unit on for night and remove it for day? Is that easy? What about eye relief change? What about non parallax adjustable scopes like mine? What if the ocular bell is larger than 45mm? Thank you.

I've used a Chinese one in the past and it was ok. Took all sorts with it. The power/temperature thing isn't much of an issue at rating distances really, not unless you are shooting rapid numerous targets at distance then maybe. They mostly do seem to be toy like in construction now bar a couple of Chinese ones. Would I go back there, not really Ben. My little break barrel has it covered. ?

Yep. I get very little help of the local egg units. I asked several times for them to get me a red security light in an ideal spot to bait any visitors but no. I've been trying to get slinky two off the units but they aren't fussed this time of year but if slinky two has cubs and comes calling in spring they'll be on the blower then!!

That's what we did for day shooting. We use to feed wild duck to ponds for evening flighting them. Clapping them off when they landed in to hidden guns.

They'd be better with their lead hp up front!

Shhhh? strictly is on!

Talking of 22 ammo I got two more to try in my newish 457. CCI quiets with their segmented bullet(!). And some of my all time favourites, Fiocchi subbies. The good news is the unfussy 457 shoots these two very well indeed. The cci quiets are fun. As quiet as an air rifle ( until it connects) at 700fps plus. The down side is they don't seem to stop squirrels very quickly with a center shot and as far as the segmented bullet bursting into three parts.....err no. They may do with some normal velocity but not at these speeds. Here is an exit wound on a squirrel, you decide!

Well thank you very much Dave and Jimmy. Dave the tail fits perfectly and Jim that torch is brighter than my old one. So I'm chuffed as punch ( what ever that is ?). Now I just need a fox or two about!

There is in fact a 307 winchester. It was chambered in their m94BB( Big bore).?
-
It's a little better than the usual figure we observe on your shoot. ?

Two feet of snow here!

The err .8. Is that the front end or rear end? Gotta be the front...how would it see, derr ?
