  1. Popped out tonight to look for a squirrel. Nice evening it was too.
  2. Changing angles is the only way to encourage a safe seer disengagement. By removing some engagement in attempt to live with factory seer angles is a short cut and in my opinion dangerous. With correct angles the seers want to slide apart with the slightest encouragement from the finger. By packing the seers partially apart so they are on the edge of contact....not good!
  3. Yes the 30grn options are very good but these were equally impressive in a lightly different way. Yes at 300 I was giving some serious hold over.
  4. Might be worth a call. Then again there are other options. I just have a soft spot for 4895, and 322, and 4350......
  5. I don't agree with the adding a tube. One is in fact lessening the seer contact and that can make the trigger unstable from bumps and safety release! You have been warned! My method retains good spring weight and full seer contact. Hence I have never bought any kits, they tend to circumnavigate the issue via compromise.
  6. Finally found some federal 50grn wmr ammo. I have been keen to try them for a while and this afternoon I did just that. I shot five at 60 off hand casually at some lumber and was not hopeful at all! I then plinked five more at close to 300 yards and noticed them landing pretty consistently! Umm I thought, it may be me so shot a few more and did better. I lifted the scope by 20 clicks and went hunting. I got four rabbits. #1@60 #2@60 #3@117 and #4@98. The misses were one at about 100. One at 150 and I did actually shoot one in the head or neck at a whoppi
  7. Ummm, did I see some on Brownells UK once??
  8. I know some use h4895 and its availability is being phased out. I use to use it and still would if I needed. I was in a gun shop in Leek, Staffordshire and he has several pounds of it and he thought he can post it via a certain haulier. Just thought I would let you know. He also had some of the other great choices and maybe worth a call. SD.
  9. Depends on a person's skills. I study the action of the trigger with a magnifying glass first. Some triggers you can physically see the sear movement caming the hammer or striker spring back. No trigger spring adjustment is going to help there. The angles of contact have to be changed and it is so fine a degree you can hardly tell. It involves small fine stones, patience and care.
  10. ..It's not alway just a simple case of changing springs. I have a box of springs just for this purpose but more often than not badly cut Sears are the main issue. They are cut with safety in mind. If I can I like to stone the Sears so they slide easier and retain the standard spring. Sometimes to light a spring on the cz's can cause accidental discharges when the safety is snapped of quickly.
  11. Generally meat eaters are very tolerant of vegetarians and even vegans but it amazes me how intolerent they are of meat eaters! Most non meat eaters are avid campaigners against any form of killing but some extremists don't mind persecuting fellow humans in place of an animal! Thus is self righteousness. Imperfect humans can not see the whole picture all the time and is prone to losing his balance on subjects. We must remain calm and patient with these ones.
  12. Sorry buddy, I know how dangerous it is awakening the Mrs!
  13. It is right yeah because the two crows earlier expired just like before and all the other birds rejoiced. ?
  14. I would get the one that fits me best. The one that co.es to the shoulder nicest. They are both good choices. Check the twists, to fast a twist will limit your choice of light bullets.
  15. This subject is being discussed on radio 2 this afternoon after 12am
  16. It'll just go underground and become completely out of control. All respect for species and closed seasons will go out of control. Illegal firearms will abound and archery equipment will boom in sales. What was a legit pastime for law abiding tax payers for centuries will become an underworld society resulting in opportunities for organised crime to flourish. Britain, the land of many fools!
  17. I believe it is illegal to use drugs and sell them but it still happens. I believe its actually an offense to stab someone, but it still happens But shoot a magpie, ooooh no, how could you. You scum of the earth you.....
  18. Basc has long been a bed fellow of the government of the time. A double agent for decades in my opinion.
  19. If that's the case they will just end up with endless amounts of criminals the length of the country comitting no real crime what so ever. It'll just go on. What has been legal for century's and everything has been fine from it is not going to stop all of a sudden is it. A bit like fox hunting with hounds I guess!
  20. I just spent a nice couple of hours under a crows nest. Eventually one of them returned ?. I found the nest via the mallard and pheasant eggs littered about. Of course I couldn't spot the meadow pipet and skylark eggs as they would of been wolfed down or the chicks would of. The do good experts don't see the little birds, little brown jobs they call them in a condescending way as if unimportant. Oh well.....guess there will be more criminals now....nevermind
  21. I did think if something along that line myself but resisted as I wouldn't want the lad resorting to self harming despite his deluded self righteous reasonings.
  22. I wish someone would tip a 1000 rats in his back yard and then secretly film his response!
