  1. By eck, I thought the stars look beautiful up your way tonight!
  2. I'm only kidding. I use to get groups like that all the time. Shooting off a bonnet seems to no help to be honest. It's a grand group all the same and certainly up to the job. Happy hunting. I'm waiting till dark and may have look about with some 3" 52g #0 in hatistani! SD.
  3. Bought some ammo to test today in the Marlin. The CCI subsonic rocks! At 100 yards it was flicking pebbles with regularity and perfect functioning. The Norma sub sonic was trash! Having an RWS head stamp I was shocked. Velocity variation was revealed in 6" up and down height difference at 100yds! Fail to ejects and jams galore! It was fun and I will get some more of the CCI asap!
  4. A old target shooting bloke told me that when you get two separate groups like that Dave it's usually a little variation in the rifles position and hold between shots. In theory you probably have the potential with a decent shooter behind the rifle ? of a cloverleaf group.
  5. Just found a 444marlin too. Would like them to work with?
  6. Thank you that is kind. I only have one old crusty 30/30 case. Can I send it to you? Pm me if yes. If not it's no problem. SD.
  7. That's neat. You've got a talent there. Can I buy one off you. I like it? SD.
  8. I saw a grass snake yesterday. They sure are difficult to catch and pull through the barrel, then they squirt stinky stuff at you. And no, I didn't sniff it's azz!
  9. And I thought I was the only weirdo here! ?
  10. Well done stav. Nicely played. How far was it?
  11. It's not new buddy. Just in good condition.
  12. Might be worth a call to Croxton country store. 01630 620226 Or, Trent firearms. 01782 302934.
  13. That's good value stav! Might be worth getting a variation!
  14. No not lumber Gav, it's the plastic lookalike. Made from melted plastic beer bottles probably.
  15. Hatistani day today and I gotta say I am very impressed. It's cock on and not hung up once. Very nice action, can't notice it functioning at all. It's been sorting pests around a farm today and accounted well. The dog even worked a stoat out of a hedge for me but I missed it.
  16. Be careful taking head shots at fox with 17! I shot this fox with a brown Bess of all things but was surprised to see this old wound probably only a few days old. No I don't know what did it but my money is on 17hmr. The above statement is an assumption and or an opinion so therefore not factual or to be referred to in any connection associated to lengthy argumentative debates of calibre choice. Just saying....

  18. Nice day tomorrow for setting a rifle up. Just set it to a snip high at 100 and it'll go beyond 200 without much fuss......lazy.....gent.
  19. My experience of these charts are that they are only guides. They don't take into consideration any subtle variation between barrel and action for instance. Just gotta shoot it Dave and suck up the cost!
  20. £1.50 ? I don't know what's worse....the £1.50 or missing the chance of seeing a Yorkshire man getting excited! Can't get them all bro.
  21. A curse of a thousand crows on around his house would drive him totley insane and throw an eagle in with its eye on the dog and he would soon pipe down!
  22. By eck lad, I heard you folk are hard but that is real tough. Hey, there's a thought. Carry a strimmer with a shotgun taped to the shaft and tell them it's for bolting slugs then place some woodie decoys out near where your working....I like it. ?
  23. Plenty of education for you on YouTube buddy ?
  24. I'm using blanks to scare the birds up then shooting them with the catties. ?
