  1. Looks like he got it sorted! Thats all thanks to Parker making you jealous the other day We were out again the other night and he is retrieving to hand on the lamp too! Tyla is still not interested although now shes out of action i cant do much about it, shes going to have some serious catching up to do once she is fit again!

im a carpenter and i use the offcuts from oak skirtings. Your best bet would be to try your nearest sawmill, they will probably give you offcuts for free

  7. Shame your not in Sussex still, i could've sorted you out Where were you living?
  8. Hello mate, is that a ginger rabbit or just the way the photo came out? Dont forgot you left your ferret collar here, remind me to give it to you when i next see you.
  9. aye ana..........my problem is im a bitch with suposed (thats suposed) anger problems....i have a thing about people being disrespectful and its just riiled me soooooooooooooo bad No harm done, everyone gets p*ssed off sometimes
  10. Well done both of you, more posts like this and less like the other one if you know what i mean
  11. Assasingirl is my fiance but shes out at the moment. Parker is JRT x whippet and thats his 3rd on the lamp, it was very still last night and we were struggling to find starter slips but he did well. He seems to lack that final burst of speed so he is having to learn to run clever and keep turning them until he gets his chance! Hes really our ferreting dog but he is having to fill in while my bitch is out of action.
  12. Ollie, 8 months, borderx. Only had him a month but he's learning!
  13. We had a quick go out again this morning, all started well. We started off using just the dogs and long nets and caught 5, although the dogs did miss a few too! Went to do the last set of the day, netted up with purse nets as its a bad place for the long net, as soon as we entered the ferrets a litter of kits ran out. Unfortunately for two of them they picked a hole right next to where Ollie was tied up watching. He couldnt have been happier as he is a watcher only at the moment and the chance of a kill presenting itself right in front of his nose made his day! We boxed up the ferrets, took up
  14. Hate to put a damper on things mate, but i had a bitch with the same problem, and to be honest, nothing worked for me, i eventually had both stops removed and the skin still split, i wasted months nursing the dog each time the stopper split which would always happen on the first slip, sometimes both stops at once! f***kin nightmare good luck to ya, hope you find something to help, i reckon get a new dog i hope your wrong, i will be gutted if she ends up like yours. Luckily shes insured so i can try everything to get her sound again.
  15. Not offended at all mate, shes not been worked since she had the injury and has only been walked on lead when it was, supposed to be, healed. This has been going on since december so its been near on 2 months and still splits. Are you saying 2 months from now? its not the end of the world for me as i have another dog to run but not being able to go out seems to have a bad affect on the bitch, she mopes about and isnt interested in her food and is loosing condition. Asto glue i think its too big a hole. i will get a pic up later, got to go to vets now though. Thanks for the replies
  16. My bitch has a bad cut on her stopper which wont heal. i think i might have to get it removed, has this happened to anyone else and what was the effect on the dog? Thanks
  17. Ok, my bitch cut along side, and under her stopper pad at the end of december. The vet stitched it, left it 10 days, then stitches were removed. She was then lead walked for 10 days. As soon as she ran on it, not working, just basic excersize it opened up again. Went back to the vet and this time it was stapled and she was given a course of antibiotics, left it 2 weeks and took the staples out on 6th feb. Since then she has been lead walked. Today threw the dummy for her and she ran to get it, again not all out just playing, and the f*cking thing has opened up again! i've just rang the vet
  18. Yes, how is his one coming on?
  19. Doddsy - he started out wanting to eat them but, fingers crossed, we've got that out of him now after daily training and now he ignores them just like the lurchers. it will be a while before i trust him 100% though Countrymon - the lurcher is a JRTxwhippet, he is 17mths old and we got him from dogger off here.
  20. That looks a lovely bit of ground. i am in the same boat, dug to a nest on saturday and most of the does are now pregnant so thats pretty much it. i might try and get out a couple more times just to make an appearance on some new permission but there are days rather than weeks left round here
  21. This is a bloody good idea lads and, more importantly, there is no petty bickering Are you going to run this again, maybe in the summer? i would have liked to have had a go but at this time of year im too busy with the dogs and ferrets so the rifle doesnt get out much
  22. Yeah hes turned out well considering his breeding. Does everything i ask of him so far, i think he has benefitted from the mistakes i made bringing Tyla on Heres another pic of him
  23. Well done both of you, i've just got in with Parker. He caught his first on the lamp tonight too! Great feeling isnt it?
  24. Just come in from a quick shine on new permission. its a very still night but i just wanted to have a look around at night. Tyla is still recuperating so i took Parker, the jrtxwhip, hes been out on the lamp a bit before but mostly watching. Had a few good runs but not connected on the lamp yet although hes been working well to the ferrets and catching in the daytime. He ran four and caught two retrieved both to hand too. im very pleased with him i think we will have fun on this new ground, saw plenty of rabbits, 7 roe and 2 foxes!
