  1. Just wanted to say thanks to Water Badger for some quality tuition and a great day out! We went to Albury Fishery in Surrey, a beautiful fishery on a very Summery day. He gave me some good tuition and got me casting. Once i had vaguely got the hang of that i started fishing. I suprised myself by catching four rainbows fairly rapidly, much to the annoyance of the other anglers who hadnt caught yet! We kept fishing all day with a nice break for cider, sandwiches and a lesson on the various flies. Matt caught three for himself and we left via the fishing shop were i bought a few bits he s
  2. My snipped hob has gone on a sex holiday with a mates jills. How long should he stay there? Mine all live together so i just let nature take its course normally and have had no problems. How many days of nooky does it take to bring them out of season? Thanks
  3. Well done lads, sounds like you know the craic about the law too. Keep posting and dont get disheartened
  4. where does it say 'i read it' have faith mate, if not why dont all 25,000 membes on thl walk down downing street, dogs an all, few slips outside browns door. I LOST FAITH 5 YEARS AGO MATE WHEN 300.000 PLUS WENT WALKABOUT IN LONDON, THE ONLY THING THAT GOT BANED WAS HARE COURSING that was five yrs ago. labour. new people in charge= new policies. the way to go is regstered clubs. as i recall its the posh fox hunting that causes the problem, cruelty, wheres the sport n 50 dogs killing one fox? single dog yes, the beagles rip them to pieces and if the sly fox gets away they dig him outta
  5. Exactly, pulling the trigger is the easy.... OK then, if I am going to sell rabbits, I would have to empty their bladders and gut them the same evening, but what about if I am giving them away? I don't mind getting my hands dirty if I am getting some cash for them, but if someone else benefits do I still clean them? If I take the rabbits with a shotgun, presumably they are not worth anything and only head shot rabbits can be sold? Woodies/squirrels I won't be eating not sure if anyone would want these? The main quantity will be rabbits, following that there will be squirrel, pi
  6. I think the difference lies in the manner its done. To poach here and there for something for the pot or butcher, being careful not to get caught and making sure no one even knew you were there is very different to driving fields, breaking gates, threatening people, direspecting your quarry and stealing things. If no body knows you were there then theres no problem but if your actions tar every lurcherman with the same brush then shame on you IMO
  7. Yeah, been reading it today. I still dont understand what it does but ive had it recommended by alot of people that it must work. Its alot of money but if it fixes her then it'll be worth it. Ive just had her out to see how shes doing and shes not limping now but that dosent mean much based on past experience. Its got to the point now that im so paranoid i dont want to run her! Pinnacle - the hydrotherapy sounds interesting. Are you going to take yours? If you do let me know how it goes
  8. Not being funny bud, but its folk like you that are the reason we CANT do anything. Make the effort and chap some doors, you cant spit the dummy out the pram for getting hassle for being somewhere you shouldnt. Common sense prevails. Just my opinion though. FTB fair point mate, but if you dont get out there and do it you end up been an internet hunter like some on here................ IMO the way things are now its not worth the aggro to poach. Having to constantly be looking over your shoulder makes for a crap night and takes your mind off the dogs, nevermind the fa
  9. Thats encouraging. Based on your experience with them would they make a difference to my bitch? She obviously has a recurring injury which long term rest alone dosent seem to heal, could one be a solution for me? Also, anyone able to explain how and why they work as their site is a bit vague?
  10. Ok, this is a long story. My bitsa bitch is just over three and has had a terrible time with injuries. She damaged the tendons in her left fore shoulder at about a year and has been struggling since. Shes had all the usual cuts and tears that they get from work but her left fore has been an ongoing problem. In december last year she knocked up a toe on the same leg and has been layed up since. She had an operation to reattach the tendon in the toe which, touch wood, seems to have been successful. She had the 3 months rest as requested by the vet and i brought her fitness up very slowly wi
  11. call me you muppet after busshing today in your company if you want to lern to fly fish name the day!! lol your on!
  12. If your so keen to get your terrier out on the lamp why not teach him to retrieve and take him when you lamp with the air rifle? That'd be useful and would build his confidence so if you find a suitable squatter for him he will beleive he can catch it. I've lamped with my terrier but only because both lurchers were laid up and i'd been bit by the lamping bug, its not very successful but better than staying in on a windy night. I have seen a guy run a staffy on the lamp successfully, much better than i expected but still not quite the same as a lurcher. At the end of the day you'd be be
  13. I am keen to start flyfishing this Summer and if anyone would take me out and give me a few tips I would be happy to recipricate with ferreting or lamping next season? I have a rod and tackle etc, although it does need to be set up, and i've been twice and can cast to a degree (even caught a couple lol). My wife's friend's other half took me out but they have since split up so i never see him. Im based in mid sussex and would prefer to keep local if possible as things are tight at the moment, on the upside im available alot of the time week days or weekends as work is patchy at best!
  14. go to ockendon they have a vet there mat had my dogs dewclaws of ther it cost £70 Where is ockenden, do you have the vets name? Im trying to avoid her losing the toe so thats really a last resort. Thanks for the replies
  15. Ive just spent the last 3 months and masses of money trying to get my bitchs toe fixed. She tore the ligament on her middle toe on her front foot and it was surgically re attached. Shes had three months rest, and i've spent alot of time bringing her back too fitnesss with road walks etc and very controlled excersize. I finally let her have a run yesterday and she was fine. Then today on a walk she hopped over a log and came back limping. Its swollen and sore and i assume shes done it again. My local vet is fine for basic stuff but i took her for the op to a specialist greyhound vet two

  17. nice dog tyla ...dose he bush tyla???..do he ever yap tyla due to the terrier in him??? He bushes, ferrets and lamps well enough for me and hes never opened up on quarry. He is, however, very vocal when hes excited or anxious. Its usually in the van on the way to hunting or when hes bored, it can be annoying but there are worse faults
  18. I would rather saw off my arm than vote labour
  19. Last year we dug 8 foot to a trapped ferret through an old farm tip, wire, concrete, masses of balertwine - twas lovely! Got the jill back though and thats what counts, she was in a caved in stop end and would've never got out on her own. Digging for rabbits i limit myself to 4 or 5 foot max, any deeper and i'll either wait or squeak them out.
  20. I have to say, i get equally fed up of reading the same old crap over and over again but, the search function on here isnt up to much. I've tried it several times, got fed up and started a new topic - only to be told "try using the search button", makes you wonder if anyone else has ever tried it?
