    Jesus, I need to get away from this job, turned up this morning and was greeted by a smackhead telling me how some other smackhead had set fire to herself in the upstairs room and could I lend him 10 quid until he can go in her flat to get his stuff, because his money and his pregab’s are in there, oh dear, go away you mess

    Up at the shoot for first light this morning, stunning morning very cold and still, bumped into a young fallow that had been practicing his rutting and had managed to obscure his vision with so rather fetching head gear

    Chocolate cake just out the oven and bottled some bramble gin ready for next Saturdays first little shoot day

    Leek and potato soup, shallots, bit of garlic, load of white wine and some cream, with a chunk of garlic bread

    Kids tea tonight, sausage, mash and beans, no chance of getting out tonight so a belly full of sausage and mash and a night in front of the idiot box

    Trying to find good lads round here that will do the graft is a nightmare the last one lasted a day and spent most of that on his phone or his vape, the best lads are the country/farm lads but they can go and earn a man’s wage, I had a lad a few months ago who would graft all day but the drugs have got the better of him now it’s a shame because I’d rather give one of our own a few quid but this lad will do anything I ask of him, and he calls me sir ( lol ) he even asks if he can go for a piss

    He’s not trusted enough to do the tea yet to be fair, he was only there from 9 til 2 and all he had to do was load the blocks in and have a bit of a tidy up, he did a bit of pointing up ( in a fashion) and had a go with the stihl saw, he was genuinely a good lad, just did what was asked, next time I need someone I’ll be giving him a ring

    Finished early today so thought I’d go full chicken ding dong, home made gravy, the lot

    Back today to sort out where we are picking the drains up and where the services are going and a bit of labouring just to help the so called bricky along, I say so called because the block work is a mess, I’ve never seen anyone set out by eye before ( lol ) and he just didn’t grasp that it had to be level because the top of the block is the top of the concrete ( that I’ll be putting in) Had a lad giving us a hand today, a student from Nigeria, lovely lad, very polite, but my god, thick as sh*t, it just shows what you get for 40 quid a day

    Finished the dig by 2:30 yesterday had the concrete in by 2 today, 8 ton of ballast done in the mixer, a ridiculous footing for a prefab single story building, anyway it’s in now, it took 12 hours and I’ve billed him for 20 which he’s fine with so I’m having Friday off

    Finished off my hand dig, no matter what time I leave today this tw*t is getting charged 10 hours, life would be so much easier if he had any idea what he is doing

    This jobs is dragging on now, took a week to clear the site because the lad who’s running it is an idiot finally got onto the footings, dug the back corner 900 like we were told to, turns out it should be 1200, can’t get the digger back in now so had to hand dig the clay out

    Beautiful morning today, big feed today all feeders into the drives only 2 weeks yesterday until the first day

    Well, they were lovely, had them with tagliatelle and a tomato, garlic and a few chilli flake sauce

    My missus is in London now with her sister ( they are going to see Madonna) she said it was chaos when they got off the tube and very intimidating with lots of people with face coverings, they were sacking the shopping off and going to find somewhere out the centre to go
