  1. I’m using easyjoint at the minute, out of all the brush in ones it seems to be the best, they all end up looking the same after a couple of years, going to give the new resin slurry one a go, see if that’s any better
  2. Patio grouted today, soil levelled, needs a bit more so should get that in tomorrow
  3. Quick midweek chicken dinner tonight
  4. Must be some serious money on this job, I’m only on a day rate here because it’s my mates job and he’s put a price in for it, he’s had the topsoil brought up from Lincolnshire, it’s the best soil I’ve ever put into a job, I dread too think how much it was for 20T
  5. Veg beds and more soil going in today
  6. Removed some ugly concrete steps today and replaced with some nice natural stone, then off to my second job, first shoot day on Saturday
  7. Bass with new potatoes, leek and a cream and white wine sauce, bloody lovely
  8. Roast beef yesterday and a couple of pork chops tonight
  9. Yeah, I would of thought the surface that’s been ordered for here will be a shredded carpet/underlay it’s treated now with what they call “wax” and they sell it as an all weather surface, they say it won’t freeze, but if it’s wet the water just freezes on the outside of the surface, a few years ago all the arenas, gallops, lunge pens were all done with shredded tyres but you just can’t get hold of it now, the newest stuff I’ve seen is shredded car sound deadening, used it on one job but it’s too light and blows all over the place with a bit of wind
  10. All the horsey stuff finished off, just wait for the wax surface to arrive that the customer has arranged, quick job this afternoon, replace a lamppost at the police HQ that someone managed to drive into writing off a new X5, a deserved weekend off now, down to Manchester to see Peter Kay tomorrow
  11. Dust finally arrived, in levelled and rolled
  12. Tornado fencing up, gates on, all stone levelled and rolled, still no limestone dust
  13. Chicken and leek pie, new spuds and a bit of veg
  14. Fence posts in, gate posts in, one gate on, waiting on 12T of limestone dust, hopefully it turns up first thing tomorrow and get it levelled and rolled
  15. All he had to say was he is building a utility room or a storage room and I would of believed that, odd little character ( lol ) who knows, maybe he just loves tomatoes
  16. Was going to have a day off today but a phone call had me putting in a drain and a bit of concrete floor for an old lad to make a room for growing his winter “ tomatoes “ he didn’t come across as someone who would get through that many “ tomatoes “ ( lol )
  17. I’ve just read this in the local paper, they are saying she’s a victim in all this, the only thing she’s a victim of is her own stupidity, her mate thought better of it but she was that thick she jumped on it, typical Middlesbrough mess, I see a gofundme page coming
  18. They took some buckets of water to shift it before I could get in, you look at people different once you’ve poked around in their sh*te
  19. Back fill in and they can now see what the levels will be, a lot different to when we started, it gives them a big usable space now, or at least it will once it’s finished
  20. What a bit of engineering this viaduct is, it’s 700m long, spans the river Tees, speaking to the lad on site he said they started building it in 1849 and it was open by May 1852, these lads are underpinning sections and have been on it now for 3 years and said there’s about another 10 months and they have serious machinery, the victorians had hand tools
  21. Back filling on the other job this morning, there’s not much we can do with this until it’s in and had time to settle, it’s very wet, luckily we can have as much free soil as we want from the works on the viaduct over the river
  22. Good bit done today, drain sorted, 40T of type one in ready rolling on Monday, yard outside the shed scraped off
