  1. On a demolition job today, once it’s cleared we’ll put the founds in for the new shed/ accommodation, I’ve met his two live in gardens today, two Vietnamese that don’t speak a word of English, make of that what you will ( lol )
  2. Well, as long as he’s happy
  3. I did some work a while ago for a bloke and he offered me some of his weed as a tip, which I turned down, anyway I was back today and the drill was the same, so I put a smile on the father-in-law’s face this time, strawberry cheesecake apparently, father-in-law said it’s lovely, mother-in-law is enjoying the peace and quiet
  4. Just me to feed tonight so I went for chicken and chorizo pasta
  5. Two sets of field gates today at my mates to stop the “ do as you likey’s “ driving across his field in pursuit of game, they’ll have to do what the rest of us do and get off their arses and climb the gate
  6. If you have some mesh or rebar put it in but if they are only a smalll step you’d be ok without it, if you were doing big steps or high traffic I’d definitely put lengths of rebar along the bottom, full length of the steps
  7. Have a look for a Belle 150, there’s loads of second hand ones for sale for between £100 and £200, you can fill them unlike the cheap ones
  8. Farmer was so happy with my fencing last week he had me back to do a bit more, then it was a mink hunt, no joy with the shotgun but hopefully the traps will sort it
  9. A good thing to use is old scaffolding boards or old roof joists, I’ve just watched that video back and he puts his stakes on the inside of the step, don’t do that, put them on the outside, I probably couldn’t have put a worse video up of how not to do concrete steps another quick tip is once your concrete is in your forms tap the side of the timber with a hammer, it will give you a smooth finish once you remove the timber
  10. Frame them out like this to the depth you want them, don’t use postcrete like this tw*t, mix concrete and pour them all as one lump also make your steps deeper than this tw*t because what he has done will just break up, it was just the quickest video I could find to give you the gist of it
  11. Beef dinner today, I’m going to have to have a little nap before I go out on the look out for deer later
  12. Cod loin in panko breadcrumbs with garlic and thyme hasselbacks and tender stem, it was not as dry as it looks on another note I’ve just found British cold pressed rapeseed oil I think I’ve been missing out
  13. Quick breakfast with the pensioners after a morning in the hospital with the missus ( and yes, I did send her to work and came here on my own, lol )
  14. View from my office this morning, I’m no expert but I’ll take a look for you
  15. It’s not powerful enough to push them in, it would push them in where the water was but not on the rest of it, even tried using it as a hammer but it was too slow to get any force behind it
  16. All old fencing out and everything cut back, about 60 posts knocked in and 150 meters of wire put up. I think I’m broken, every part of me hurts
  17. 150 meters of wire fence today, all the posts have to go in by hand, I’m knackered already
  18. Mince and dumpling tonight
  19. Another school job today, ducting for a cable from the building to the gates, all finished and off home with a full days pay, you’d never know I’d been
  20. The sthil one I use used to be the same, could never get it running, I found out it’s valve gaps, reset them and it goes first or second pull, but for some reason I have to reset them every 4 or 5 times I use it
  21. Harissa chicken for me tonight, very nice
  22. Yeah, there’s been a lot of messing around here over the last week but I need to keep him happy because there’s always work here
  23. Another job finished, small bit of fake grass levelled, big bit of grass at the back of the house re-sanded and brushed, I I’ve put him a bit of fence up next to the gate post that’s in the wrong way round
  24. Fake grass repair first thing this morning, it had a family of rats under it that dug out the sand
