  1. All head shot, no meat damage, I’m thinking bunny burgers for a weekend barbecue ??
  2. They are a cracking semi but it depends how much it’s had through it ?
  3. That’s spot on, buy the synthetic CZ and treat yourself to a vortex scope
  4. I’d go cz, the anschutz are nice but the do cost a chunk more, I’ve got a browning T bolt in .17 and CZ in .17 the browning was a lot more money than the CZ but shoots no different, if anything the CZ has a better trigger than the browning
  5. Bless them, they were both about 12 years old, a least they had a trip out to see the horses ?
  6. My input would be tikka t3 over the howa but it comes down to personal choice, I know someone who has a Howa 1500 and it never misses a beat they just seem a bit more rugged than the tikka ?
  7. We have them nesting every year in the workshop, normally around 15 to 20 pair, only seen about 8 or 10 birds so far, but there’s still time
  8. Looks like us teessiders are multiplying, don’t get them wet and don’t feed them after midnight
  9. I may have a little opportunity for someone on my pheasant shoot in North Yorkshire, around the farm is a few rabbit sets and they are eating everything in the garden, I’ve been shooting a few but not really getting on top of them, I was thinking of taking someone to have a go ferreting it for me, I would want whoever came to be experienced and know what they are doing, I can’t say you will come away with a bag full but there is a few about and nobody else gets to go on this land, you would need your own gear as this is something I don’t do and I wouldn’t take more than two people with me, it
  10. Another trip out to my food fields and came away with these fella’s, better than a trip to Tesco for tomorrow tea?
  11. Nice work, even though you didn’t get on the farmers 1000’s I can think of no better place to be on a beautiful sunny day, fingers crossed you’ll soon come across the farmers mystical, blue with pigeons field ?
  12. I’ve seen rabbits that have come back from mixy and they are non the worse for there troubles, I’ve had the kill them, leave them conversation with a few people, my farmer mate says leave them but I think that’s more like he wants it to spread rather then any concern for the rabbit welfare, I do tend to take them as once we get warm and damp the spread becomes rapid, last year I had one spot where you could walk round picking them up, the foxes must of been over the moon but it’s not a nice thing to see so many in discomfort and although a few will of come through it and maybe passed on strong

    Funny

Oh dear, that was a lot of shouting about nothing ?
  14. I’ve not seen any mixy up here yet, but I’m sure it will rear it’s ugly head at some point, VHD is what bothers me as once one has it there’s no stopping it, at least with the mixy you stand a better chance of clearing them up slowing down the spread
  15. Oi, what you doing on here, there a load of good info on here mate ask any question and someone will have an answer, I thought I knew what I was doing until I started reading through this, pick up a few tips and we’ll give them a go next time we are out?
  16. My .17 is zeroed at 100 yards the lad I know who has a WMR zeroes at 75 yards I’m not sure if other people do the same or he’s just odd because that seem a bit of a strange distance to me, I would set it up the same as the .17 but maybe I’m wrong
  17. Cheers, it’s been to long since I’ve done some good old bunny bashing with the little rimmy ?
  18. That’s the little cut down cz .22, I also took the bargain bucket .17 for my mate to use ( the mate that said it’s only good for knocking fence posts in ) his first two shots were 125+, I think he has been won over by its charms
  19. I fully agree with this, the WMR hits very hard so a tricky shot on a fox is well within its capabilities be it side on or into the bib on the other side with the .17 if you are not head shooting fox the gun should be taken off you as 9 times out of 10 it will run on if it takes a round to the body, if you are wanting something to eat or sell on at the end of it I’d go for the WMR, I primarily use the .17 as a pest control rifle, it will shoot rabbits well over 150 yards but you need to ask, realistically how many are you going to shoot at that distance, if I can’t see it with the naked eye I
  20. To me it comes down to personal choice they are both a very good round for 120+ yard bunny bashing, the WMR is a good hard hitting round but then again the .17 is flat and fast, the down side to the .17 is it is a little bit more affected by wind and they do make a bit of a mess, so head shot is required if you want to eat what you shoot, saying that I really like the .17 and own two of them, the main thing I like about it is I do a lot of night shooting and I don’t tend to have to work out distance, just put it in the crosshairs and squeeze the bang switch
  21. Think I might take them down the curry route ?
  22. A little walk out on some land that I use to feed myself, rabbits are about in good numbers but only take what I need from here as there’s no crop or live stocks it could of been mistaken for a summers night if it wasn’t so bloody cold
  23. Good luck hope it works out well for you ?
  24. A good job done, I don’t tend to shoot fox this time of year, but will if they are a problem, I will only shoot them if I know where the earth is, I don’t take any pleasure in killing cubs this way, for me I like nothing better than sitting up on a late July evening taking care of a full family that are been a complete pest as only a fox can ?
