  1. One step ahead of you Mac, eBay and Amazon. But not sure of bow yet. I think my local archery club frowns upon compounds . But there is another which you can use them at. But I am tempted to just try and learn off my own back and watching YouTube tutorials . It's the sighting methods, there seems a few. Also both eyes open or shoot with dominant eye open.
  2. Certainly an unorthodox hunting method. If I was to wonder round my local woods with a blow gun, I would look like a giant reeltree pygmy ! Lol
  3. Am surprised them blow guns can take out a goat !
  4. Can't see them shipped and getting through customs to good old blighty
  5. Been watching a lot of slotmaster Tim Wells on YouTube and his bow hunting has led me on to watch some of his spear hunting. Watched him spear hunt a grizzly bear, a red stag and a crocodile which was still thrashing in the water when he went in to coup de grace. Not everyone's cup of tea but certainly made interesting viewing if anybody's not seen it. He deffo has a set of danglies on him ! Would put the videos up but am crap with teckno lol. Also the blowpipe vids worth a watch, very primitive ways of hunting.
  6. Quality pics thanks for sharing, do those guys hunt with the bows ? Cheers
  7. As said above, I've got one for car camping . Good bit of kit . Only gripe a bit bulky and possibly novelty factor. But do boil water quick. Ok now and again for summit a bit different. You can cook on them all though I've never tried as I don't have the cooking attachment.
  8. Will google him Mac ta
  9. I did see on YouTube that some had back up with rifles , but I also think they was the guides
  10. Would imagine a famous bow Hunter ??
  11. Just noticed there is a compound bow for sale in the classifieds on here .
  12. Funny enough Greyman, a lad said that to me the other day. Said if you can shoot a catty fine, you should be ok with a bow.
  13. Now that's one big yogi........
  14. Just watching Tim Wells now , I’ve led a sheltered life ……. Blow guns and spears
  15. Actually there is a club local to me, and a fella that comes in my business is a traditional long bow club shooter and am fairly friendly with him
  16. It’s a a steep learning curve to be honest. I need do more research. Cheers
  17. Seen him on the tube, as far as I can gather to a newbie , looks a minefield as many different ways to aim and sight ! Looks to me a recurve can be take down which could be handy in some circumstances.
  18. Is it easier to learn on a low poundage recurve first or go straight to a compound ? Ta
  19. Will check Wolfe thanks
  20. Noticed in a lot of the vids I’ve watched . Some of the quarry tends to run on.
  21. Thanks for the heads up , will take look . Cheers
  22. Really enjoying the bowmar vids mate. Very interesting stuff
  23. Been watching Bowmar Bowhunting on YouTube. A fella and his mrs , a cracking channel and they have hunted everything from crocs to bears to lions to fish. And on the big game , they also go into the conservation aspects of it. Loved watching the bow fishing
  24. Good pics wolfy thanks. You prefer compound or recurve ? Cheers
  25. Been watching this a lot on YouTube recently. I’ve never been into guns even though I’ve rough shooted and done other forms of shooting over the years, guns av just never really interested me. Had running dogs for over 30yrs but now retired and I mostly preferred running bigger species. For the past few years I’ve got into slingshots and really enjoyed this type of hunting with the skill involved. And this is we’re bow hunting interests me. I know it’s illegal in this country so would have to go abroad for it . But the skill and getting closer to the quarry I find interesting. Anybody else bee
