Lamping Lurcher, im only 5-7'...but i walk around at 170lb, and cut to 155lbs...its hard work, and i dont enjoy it, but it has to be done... We will see how i am on big fellahs soon enough,..the next guy im fighting (in two weeks) is 6-5".... ....he is also 4-0...should be a good fight!... Kye,..
  2. Im 3-1 at the moment...fight at 155lbs (11.1 Stone) soon to be 4-1 in the next few weeks... Kye,..

  4. You jammy bugger!... ...that does sound fun! Dont take what i say as gospil mate...it is just my opnion...she is your Gyp after all!..lol. I think the Man in OK would agree with me though...that guy knows so much about these dogs that its rediculous..lol. All the best, and give me a call anytime mate...would be nice to catch up again!.. Kye..
  5. When i moved over here i got a Ruger 10/22...to say i have killed a SHIT load of game is an understatment!... Squirrels, rabbits, hares, fox, coyotes, and lots of other big stuff...mine would jam on Remington ammo, but since i switched to Federal, i havent had a jam (well maybe one or two per 500 rounds)...i love mine!...i put a Tasco Red Dot sight on mine and found it great for lamping and such...had more than a few shots at hares running and killing them...a great gun!.. Kye,..
  6. Hey Doc,.. Do you want a dog to hunt toothed game first, then hares second?...or a hare dog that can take toothed game?.. IMO, even a 1/4 Bull is alot...there are dogs out there with as little as 18th to NO Bull, that can/do/will take coyotes...the sire to your Grace (Saker) being one of them!..lol. If i was you mate, i would find the best coyote stag hound you can find (you KNOW who to contact regarding them dogs!...the dude you got Grace from!.. ) From what i hear, Grace is no slouch with toothed game...look at what she NEEDS...yes she is tough, yes she has a great person
  7. Its a little of both with LOADS of crops...we start when the crops come down, with the big dogs...terriers, we get out whenever we can...got out two days ago, and got a cat, two coon and a possom...all let go to run another day (apart from the cat, she was feral, so had to go!) We have small to large fields, split buy ditches, and barb wire...we got out alot last season, and i have a mate coming over from this site next season, so me and FR will be running him ragged!..lol. He is here for two weeks, so i wanna try and get a week of digging, then a week of running the big dogs...try a
  8. Im in the Mid-West now,...but we have Kansas right next door!...supposed to be some hares there, and i know theres LOADS of yotes....we will realy be after them this fall/winter!... My dogs havent run a hare/rabbit for about 10 months!...LOADS of work on others critters though, mostly raccoons, which has helped them learn how to kill stuff, without taking too much stick... Kye,..
  9. Nice kennels there Ab!... Man, i wish i had enough work to enable me to work the number of dogs you have!...must be some game numbers in your neck of the wood!...seems i choose the wrong state to move too!..lol. Im thinking on getting another Stag though...me and FR run outta dogs last season, due to injurys, and being laid up from collisions/bite wounds... Kye,..
  10. All the holes in my area are dug buy G-Hogs,...we have terriers ranging from 10" all the way up too 16"...my digging partners dogs range from 12" too 14"...all our dogs get plenty of work...even my 16" can get up too the possoms and raccoons in the gh tubes...he wont make much of a gh dog though..lol. Kye,..
  11. If i was back home in England, one of them would have been the type i would want!...mint looking pups guys, a credit to yah...should be good for basicly everything, apart from hares with 100 yards head start!..lol...Pre-Ban, im sure they could of taken Rabbit, Fox and Deer...real hunting types i would say!.. Kye,.
  12. Man, if you ever wanted to cross Saluki into your Coyote hounds, THAT would be the boy to use!...Good work for a Saluki...A good Staghound would have had him dead quicker though... Kye,..
  13. You should PM Royston2,...his dogs are stock broke and are great ratters...he 'aint far from that area. Kye,.
  14. Agro had a rag back at home,...i will let him see one, when we run one up a pipe... ...he should do ok,..we will see?.. Dogs didnt take any stick...Slag had a few nips...its hard for a critter to bite, when its caught buy the head/throat..lol. Jay,..
  15. Coyotes are faster than a fox...but they dont turn as good buy all accounts...my dogs have taken red and gray fox, and they dealt with in the manner that you would exspect..lol..and carried back...an animal that is a tough critter to KILL, is the humble raccoon... DW, im in Missouri (the northern, most southern state..lol.) and i LOVE it mate... There are some dogs out here with hints of Bull in them,...the smooth bitch we have (Slag) has a tiny bit, less than an 1/8th i beleave...but they have to be fast and hold up well, and Bull cross seem to be heavy and cant take the knocks, most
  16. Just to let you know guys, thats a Black snake, and a species of Orb spider.. I would love to see what a line bred, english Bull X would do on a coyote...the trouble would be getting one that had the stamina, speed, and still had the grit...ive seen dogs tough enough to KILL yotes back home (of course!) but to catch one, and stand upto the terrian?.. Kye,..
  17. It may LOOK like blood, but it isnt...its usuly proteins from the body being past out as waste...get it alot on dogs run in the desert on long hard courses on hares...just rest him up and make sure he has access to water...nowt to worry about. Kye,..
  18. FR, I think that yote is the first critter they have killed when you HAVENT been there for about six months mate,...now that your my 'Driver', you would have been proud of my driving skills!... The land is VERY much the same as back home,..BUT,...the fields are bigger...loads of barb-wire fences, small county roads, hedges etc,...i do miss the WIDE open places of the West...We have the state of Kansas right next door, and my mate who bred my dogs knows guys that take upto 50 (FIFTY!!!) yotes in a weekend..of course that 'aint normal,...i would be happy with 3!..lol. Loads of snakes o
  19. Hi Breeze..lol...good names eh?...just need a fe more so i can call em 'Porno' and 'Slut'..lol. Done quite a bit on the hares last season, before i moved to the Mid-West,...the brindle male is a very good dog on them...not many dogs you can lamp rabbits with all night, give him a day off, then catch 2-3 daytime hares singlehanded, give him a day off, then run some coyotes..lol...i LOVE that dog!..lol. Tor, the wheaten bitch, had a rough season...she has broekn her tail (TWICE) broke her neck, got bitten buy a snake, and numerous other little dings and scrapes...but she is summat speci
  20. Slag (the smooth coated, dark brindle bitch) is 25" and about 65lbs...Tor (Rough coated, wheaten coloured bitch with no tail) is 31" and about 70lbs...Blister (rough coated, light brindle dog) is 29" and 70lbs... When the dogs are well and truly wed to coyotes they will only be doubled up, not tribled up...but i have put alot of time into these dogs, so i have taken my time to enter them wright...i think once there going just two would be fine, while still being sporting and humane on the quarry...i wanna get another stag, so then we ill have four...a brace for each side of the truck then
  21. Driving home yesterday afternoon we saw a pair of coyotes in the soybean field in front of the house. Pedal to the metal on a gravel county road is not the best idea, but what the feck, we had 3 staghounds in kennels just waiting for an opportunity like this! My stepson has never seen the dogs course quarry in daylight before so we were extra jazzed for this opportunity. We got to the house, let the dogs out to empty out QUICKLY before loading them up in our trusty little truck. We couldn’t see the coyotes anymore but we went up one side of the property to look, then turned around and w
  22. All im gonna say is there are some real good wheatens out there...and some guys that breed them are good working guys that would love to hear geniune lads in the states have a few and test them against Bobcat, Coyote, Badger (legal here) etc...and to be honest, thank f**k for them very generous, very good dog men!... Kye,..
  23. Alright mate,.. That ugly twat John called (is he still playing with cow boobs for a living?..lol) and left a message, but i seem to have lost his number...it as regarding them wooly dogs... ...if you dont see this mate, can ANYONE who knows Salopian tell him im trying to get in touch...cheers. Kye,..
