So I decided to buy my mates axion xm30 but by heck I'm struggling to use it lol I've set it on white hot , I can see rabbits playing out at 100 yards however if I try to find squirrels/ roosting birds the tree goes white hot aswell , So last night I whent out found a phesant with the lamp and then decide to have a play about , I tried the white hot but at first I could only see its face and glowing , the same on black hot and also on red hot , and then to top it off when I moved the branches of the tree whent white hot / black hot/ red hot aswell , now its alot worse when it's close and

Can’t beat this style , all tho can get them for bit cheaper , seen them for around £12 £14 , I regularly have 20 odd pheasants on these and there spot on

Got to be honest mate that’s not how I do things , my cocker works cover but works to a range that I like her to quater at , as soon she mocks game out I’ll shoot it with the shotgun and she will retrieve to hand , I e never worked a pointer and a spaniel at the same time as both should be able to do the similar job only difference is the pointer will point let you get in position then flush you shoot and it should retrieve back to hand , but as far as terriers go , there are plenty of terriers out there working cover who would put some spaniels to shame , going out with a catty a

I'm not saying yours is I was simply saying some terriers are better for working tight cover than spaniels and also that there plenty of terriers used for bushing / working cover Most spaniels will smash around in cover and struggle and push trough realy tight stuff where a small terrier will clear cover alot quicker with a desire to kill what there hunting

Exactly , it's the first time I've ever heard someone say working cover isn't a terriers job ? Granted there used in earth work doesn't mean that's there only job

Did you not have a spaniel terrier wich you used for working cover ? Then parted with as you said your russel x whippet worked cover well enough? And there plenty terriers out there working cover alot better than some spaniels , and most spaniels won't kill in cover maybe he needs that

Looks like the xm30 would probably be better suited to me then , so , to buy second hand , or to just buy new with warrant is the question , pas they say , buy cheap buy twice

Cheers men so narrowed it down to the 19 ? However my mate has just told me he is selling his pulsar xm30 as he is upgrading , it's only been used a and full times ans wants 800 for it so question is have either of you used the pulsar xm30 is it worth buying that second hand or is te hik19 ( with buyers warranty going to be better )

Well that’s a f***ing bummer , shame the lads haD to go like that , farmer obviously sick people trespassing on land and had enough so can’t blame him for shooting the dog but for the man to then shoot him in the back the head how can anyone justify that , not like he felt his life in danger from a man walking away from him , hopefully the farmer will get life and spend prison time been tormented for rest his life

Don’t use weights on bottom mate it’s crap , net i seen was about 30 ft long about 6 ft deep with a 2 ft strip of material at the bottom running the full length of the net , the lad who showed me said it was to keep the bottom of the net down and didn’t get tangled as much ,soon you fell the bird hit the net drop it on the floor , was never used seriously tho and was something he said he just had try , you won’t get big numbers unless there are big numbers there to be had , the beauty of thermal spotter will do you a big favour , but to be honest I’ve had partridge sit that tight
