  2. No, i havent had a wasp call-out yet.
  3. i really like him. He does come across as a bit of a character, but he is a very clever bloke. He is exactly what politics wants, someone who isnt just about spin and conning the public.
  4. I havent got one friend on facebook
  5. Tom sharpe is very good, yes. The "wilt" chronicles were hilarious.
  6. Cheers rolfe, i was expecting something like that to be honest. Im sure the fungi book authors just copy each other and add it because the chinese use it in medicine. I was originally looking for some boletes or morels but failed badly. On the way back i crossed a couple of fields hoping for a puffball but it wasnt to be its a shame as i hate to come back from a walk empty handed. those jews ears might be plentiful, but i think there as much use as vinces glass eye
  7. Its not like that here!! 3 weeks ago i phoned up 3 builders for quotes for a garden wall. I had already dug and laid the foundation so the donkey work was done. All i needed was a 8 metre wall built out of 9inch hollow blocks. 2 never even turned up to give me a quote and the other quoted £600 !!!!!!!!! I did it myself and saved nearly £500.
  8. I read loads of books , usually a couple a week. Grisham, leather, cole, quigley, heller. baldacci i dont mind, and falconer is also ok.
  9. Was out for a mooch today looking for fungi. Didnt find anything but jews ear fungus. Ive looked through my books and the best that they come up with is the chinese dry it and use it as an Olde worlde medicine. is there anything that i could do with it ie cooking it? could have took a carrier bag full today. Is it to be boiled in milk, sauted or what? The books are very vague on this fungus and im guessing that the pro@s either havent tried it and just pretend to or its not worth picking unless your 150 years old and chinese.
  10. Great photos mate. I love to see the dogs enjoying themselves!
  11. weather permitting im off winkling tomorrow, and am going to try limpets. Anyone got any advice ? im a limpet virgin. ( how many is enough, do i leave in fresh water like winkles? , cooking them) etc
  12. oi!! cheeky gits ! you can say what you like, the mackerel fishing off the gare is the best in the world!!!!!
  13. just ordered some. Buy one get one free too!
  14. My bro in law just bought one of these i think. If its the same gun he says its the dogs gonads.
  15. Rimfire. defo. Like cbw says, it will be a fanny on re-filling it and checking the gas etc. The rimmy is ready to rock and roll always. Cost too. With tighter gun laws air rifles ( even fac ones) are going up in price whereas bullet guns arent. A rapid 7 will cost you £700 say, where my cz style rf, a gun i will never part with as its great, cost only £300. Plus all you need to do with a rimmie is feed it cci stingers to up the ante, or shorts to lessen the power if the need arises.
  16. Thought id share with you lot some massive savings just made. i usually grab the yellow pages every time an insurance is up for renewal and ring a couple of businesses for quotes, but last week decided to attack the monthly outgoings. Went on comparethemarket and for both cars and the house insurance saved a massive £600 a year!!!! Knocked over £250 off the landy insurance, knocked over £100 on the mini and over £200 on the house. None were up for renewal but at those prices phoned up and cancelled them and payed for both car insurances in full there and then. Got to be worth a try y
  17. As title states, ive been into loads of different foraging, but never tried collecting and eating seaweed. Dont know anything about the stuff whatsoever, so would need a book with pictures , any advice?
  18. What bird are you talking about? a HH?
  19. Ok, for a fiver i'll take a punt. Where do i send cheque? My only other worry would be complaints. Ive been to 2 jobs so far and the customers have been bona-fide nutters! The last i had to run from the house shi*ting myself, one complaint from these would mean getting outed through no fault of your own.
  20. Nice fox and very nice gun.
  21. Steve, the more i read it, the better it sounds. Will give it some thought. Ps, where you on a strychnine course near wetherby about 6 years ago? I know your face .
