  1. Always make the same noise just as you are going to feed them. I always go "tut tut tut tut tut tut " (you get the picture). They will hopefully associate this sound with food and it makes it easier, IMO to get them to come out of a hole etc.
  2. Hi Mate, if you type "permission letter" into the search box at the top right hand side of the screen when you log in and all should be revealed. Cheers, D.
  3. You got that spot on mate!
  4. It also depends on the buries you ferret. Bit of a sickener waiting for a bolt for an hour to then see the rab disappear back down the next hole!
  5. Thats some extreme ratting, top sport! Cheers, D.
  6. i started the poll as i was curious what people prefered.. you dont need to spend £1000`s to get a decent unit that will do the job, all depends what your sticking it on. Night vision is more effective but it's not a spectator sport unless the caddy has NV also.
  7. the only time i put a little slice in the bunnie is when you leave it a while, its harder to do, buck seem a little tough too, but with a little pratice you wont need a knife There's gonna be sooo many people trying this out soon!
  8. Once "bolted" a moorhen from a fox earth, with a terrier, in the Dales several years ago.
  9. Hard graft for 6 rabs, fair play toyou.
  10. If there's a local(ish) hunt in your area, go along to a few meets. Alternatively go to cattle markets or pony sales. You'll soon see who the farmers are. Get to know a few people, talk sensibly and "feel your way in" It takes time and trust to get decent permission. Good luck
  11. Tidy fox, tidy shot, tidy pic. Excellent stuff.

    Ferreting

If you lived in Cornwall, if it looks even like it might snow the County comes to a standstill!
  13. Top morning, single handed ferretting can be great when all goes well!
  14. If you can get a thin sheet of galvanised metal or similar as big as the area they are shitting in and put it down and put some of their dung on it they will use this area and you have an easy slide out tray type mechanism which is easy to keep clean. The farther away from their nest/food the better.
  15. I have one on here for sale Would you post or PM details/spec/price etc? Cheers, D.
  16. Thanks for that, was the Mossberg a 3 shot? Where did you buy them from? Love the Smiths line also. Cheers, D.
  17. Does anyone have any feedback on the Hushpower range of shotguns?
  18. Mate of mine had one 25 years ago and it was indestructable. The first real offroader about that wasn't a Landie.
  19. I usually use 2" to reduce the number of small ones that get through the net as I ferret most of the year in some places.
  20. Two's good on an "hourly rate" basis! Cheers, D.
  21. Good quote. S/S every time, traditional!
  22. Well done mate, I often ferret by myself and dog and it's hard work sometimes. You've got to be selective in the buries you ferret or you miss too many.
