Quite ironic but as I was reading your post the kingfisher just flew past my boat luckily I see them most weeks they nest on the frame just across the way most years but I’ve never found the burrow as that would be the best opportunity for a natural as Mack said get a perch but add an old fish tank and some minnows -
Been following this for a while looks like it’s going to be a corker when it goes I,m thinking planes grounded and sun masked by ash for some time
-
We have this and drones as well signs on gates everywhere warning about hare coursing with a grass line to the police

If one day or night you do see one how would you take it mate, would you assume it’s a pet like the lynx or a naturalised born and bred uk creature, I hunted a valley in North Somerset for over 30 years day and night before I ever saw any signs of cat activity a freshly consumed roe I put out a couple of cameras and caught one within 3 month yet in 30 years I never had a clue now I’m tuned in I can often find sign if I go back there I’ve seen two in the flesh and quite a few good clear pictures since so to me there just is no question and as the dna is coming in it just enforces what I know

I,m happy as a pig in shit, hated school and authority with a vengeance ,left with no qualifications lived a mental teenage into my early twenty’s wasted a few years behind bars but when my first child was born and I thought I have to change things for them,so I started my own business, I,ve always been good at spotting opportunities and making a quick buck so I bought a house at 22 paid it off by my early 40s and now I live on my dream boat in one of my favourite places with all my family within one hundred yards of me and a tidy wedge to see me through, I made it and will die a happy man

Famous off the back of his dad mate, think forest is more interested in his legacy though he has done a bit to show that just because science says no sometimes they are wrong I find it a bit gimmicky sitting under a tree of bacon expecting to lure things in I don’t expect any action on my cams until they have been out a few months as that’s how long it still smells of you and though it will catch you can see things are wary for the first month or so

The biggest release I know of was from a breeding program in Norfolk were 25 were released a few were re captured a few killed on roads but a good number melted in to the wild never to be seen again of the three species we have here they are the most secretive and seen less, in the 1980s a good mate of mine watched one for 25 mins climbing down a cliff in a quarry he had the lamp on it but it couldn’t run away I arrived half hour later and just saw the pug marks in the silt on the quarry floor it would not surprise me if they never went extinct here and clung on in a few small pockets now boos
