  1. Children among the dead ffs Seems all to easy for a nutter to get these sort of arms A hand gun or shot gun would have been bad but would of been overpowered I would imagine. But machine guns, they belong in the hands of soldiers not Joe public imo Rip
  2. Off to see me old mum tomorrow she lives on south coast right next to the beach so will have a couple of hours there. Have had a few bits of jewelry down there and quite a bit of modern coin in the past.
  3. Was that the guy that made his own motorbikes
  4. That's a good price for a top detector mate If you don't need the money may as well keep hold of it. Its something that I blow hot and cold on but normally once or twice a year I do a bit. Summer for fishing Autumn early winter dirt fishing Winter work the dog
  5. Twin forty's that would fill your sump with petrol
  6. Standard upgrade on the v6 version lol Mate had a 3.1 the rear 2 cylinders were bored out not for performance but to thin the water jacket to stop it from overheating. Cars today are much faster but they don't seem half as fast or scary.
  7. He really lived a varied life never tried dowsing for any thing other than water pipes just happens I guess you know its there some where its a strange thing for sure not sure how it works Are you selling your detector and packing it in mate
  8. Yes my old man worked on the waterboard for 40 years he was the same. I also own some copper rods used them last week to locate a water service and was bang on. Be great if they worked for gold and silver

  15. 911 my favorite no good across the fields though
  16. There has been a bronze age site uncovered less than a mile up the road, wouldn't mind poaching that lol. Lots of roman stuff very close to me. Also our church has records dating back to 872 and was the destination of a pilgrim route. So lots of history I have only really detected a small bit of woodland next to my house. I need to branch out a bit I think. Do you own a detector mate
  17. Same here would rather be working dog on a few rabbits but its either overgrown or diseased sadly. So at the moment its a way of getting outside and passing some time, until we get a few decent frosts. Good luck mate.
  18. Found that one out last week about not wearing steelies lol Have you had many old finds mate
  19. Its quite addictive when you get into it and have a few decent finds. I have an old 1720 os map of my local area and have laid it over google maps then look for buildings that no longer exist, seems to be working for me. Most finds seem to come from what I think are the garden areas. Seems all you get is iron if your directly on top of building. I laughed at my self today seemed like I had a moving target when kneeling down kept getting a good signal next to me I shuffled back still got the signal then it dawned on me that the detector was picking up the metal in my knee.
  20. That's a great find mate that will take some beating, have you found much of the same age. I have a lead token somewhere reckon that's the oldest thing I have found but sadly it has no date on it. Any idea of the value of the Lizzy 1st hammy. Cheers
  21. She can't help it she retains water that's all
  22. No worries I have enjoyed reading your posts 17hornet, fascinating stuff for me anyway. Keep on posting mate I found these this afternoon Nice old Penney in good condition Button from about the same date as the penny 62nd regiment Wiltshire foot I guess the soldier was back home after fighting the Zulu's in the Boer war when he lost it. I would rather be hunting rabbits this time of year to be honest, but a bit of detector work keeps me busy until the undergrowth dies back. Good luck mate.
  23. Keep the faith Dido, use the force lol Good luck at the weekend mate
