    Should have mentioned the price is not random for any particular ferret, its for vets bills for the neutering.

    Three of the best working ferrets i have known, were given to the rescue as being useless workers,- but on taking them out to try them ourselves, they soon took to the job, and i just think its the owners that are the problem most of the time. A lot of rescue ferrets are lost workers anyway, we tend to find.

    We used to co-run a ferret rescue, but our friends now run it although we still help with fundraising etc. Food , bedding, hutches etc etc we paid out of our own pockets. At one point i remember us paying upto £60 a week. With 120 ferrets between us, at one time it was not cheap . Its £25 for a neutered ferret which is only a percentage of what the vet charges the rescue. There is no objection to working homes as long as its a good home. Some of the best workers we have had have been rescue ferrets, as we also work ferrets. Paying £25 for an animal that you may have for 10 years is not

    I was there today, as i have the Countryside Tent there, it did not rain all that much and the ground was fine when we left at around 5pm. It was a real good day, and i expect tomorrow to be even better. We have a very good interesting Countryside marquee, so do try and call in. Its at the top end of the show field. There are also lots of good working terrier and lurcher ornaments, on one particular stall in another marquee if anyone collects that type of thing. Best Wishes Dave ( Gin )

    I have not been to this particular show, from what i understand its Blanchlands country show, with terriers and the ferret shows, no lurchers.
