  1. I don't know but it will all be on the net and easy to find. I got the dates from the ATEO website (AirTunes trading) but it has links to all the shows under Calendar 2016.
  2. No breather. When the crows are raising young it is the time of the greatest predation on songbirds. Harsh, but realistic.
  3. There's you Country Fair, Ollerton, Northants is 9th and 10th April.
  4. 16th-17th BASC Gamekeepers Fair Catton Park I think that there is another on 9th-10th somewhere too.
  5. I agree with your second point Walshie, but definitely not the first.
  6. If you trim or flail a hedge it will become less and less effective and attractive and eventually look rubbish like most of the hedges in this country (yew an exception). Plant a native hedge, lay it every seven years and you won't go wrong.
  7. That's about the same as us for oil fired heating and water. But don't forget the heating oil is 25% of the price it was two years ago mate. Batten down the hatches before the rascals hit us with a price hike which will happen as soon as they can.
  8. White vinegar will act like bleach but bio degrade.
  9. Just tried to upload a photo of the hedge planted last month. 90 native species. I will try again with the photo in a min.
  10. "Southern Counties" is a good one and will cost less than 15 quid new and loppers and draw saw are handy too. The library will have a book on hedge laying but (as sheep above said) there will be a group ( or local college will also do a one day course) near you that will let you learn for nothing. YouTube also has several good vids. Also, you need to do it before end of this month. PS Great fun.
  11. I used a Compatto recently and put about 400 pellets through it. Impressive. Accurate, excellent grip and robust. At 600 a bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion. It even impressed a master rifle shooter I met when I had it.
  12. Get a mixed natural hedge 75% hawthorn/blackthorn and the remainder hazel, spindle, field maple, wild cherry, wild plum, dogwood etc........all "Bare Root". Did a trench one spade deep and a foot wide. Plant the whips on alternate sides of the hedge nine inches apart so five/seven per yard. Two year old whips should cost about 49p each/Three year old a tad more. Colour all year round, loads of birds and some squirrels to shoot!
  13. That's gay,,,,not old,,,lol Ho, ho friggin' ho! LOL
  14. I'd buy her a pint, hold her jacket for her and then let her carry on.
  15. When you walk past a wool shop and think "That's a nice cardigan"
  16. Always good to get a reminder that these buggers are about.
  17. Welcome. Well done with getting access to some land.
  18. Since facts seem to be very thin on the ground, similarly to he Scottish referendum, best go with gut feelings.
  19. Hello Does anyone know of colleges that can provide distance learning courses in these subjects please? I would thoroughly enjoy learning more but I couldn't possibly afford to take time away from paid work.
  20. I'm going and will be there three days. Plenty of stalls and a few new items to whet the appetite.
