Okay, I will contact him and see if it is possible to pick it up. Phil

Oh right, something I was not aware of David. What do you use and where do you get them from. Phil
-
I have a friend in Dereham, if he can pick it up for me, I would be happy to have it, ideal for my nephew to start off with. Are you desperate to get rid of it or do I have a little time. Phil

I don't have a perm yet although I do know a few farmers so I will be shooting a few rats before long. I bought a T20 red Cree lamp which gives a good light but this was just to get me into night shooting and I have been doing a little practice with that at targets. I came across a nice NV unit on ebay which the guy has sold to a few of the 'Airgun' forum lads who all seem very pleased with it so I think that is the next purchase. I know quite a number of guys have made their own but to be honest, I don't think I want to make one. This is the one I will buy, the sale has ended but I ha

Best Way To Clean A Barrel
philpot replied to big napper's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Has anybody got an exploded diagram of this bloody seal because I am really quite confused by the concerns of Hull Cartridge if there isn't any need to worry about using a pull through. Phil -
My Vision King range finder arrived today. Very pleased on first viewing, fast and simple. I also used it a few minutes ago with my red scope light in the darkness out in the field and it works fine as I took readings during the daylight, the readings were the same in red light so could be handy for night shooting. Perhaps you guys know this but I didn't so well pleased. Phil

Perhaps this would be better left alone as it is giving the anti band some interesting reading. We are all gun users for whatever purpose and should stick together with a united front. Phil

Best Way To Clean A Barrel
philpot replied to big napper's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I have to admit that I would prefer the pull through method but am somewhat nervous about this bloody seal, just how easy is it to dislodge. I did make a pull through ready to use out of fly fishing line and bought these from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191283237819?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT How do you know if the seal has become dislodged, does it just come out or what and how easy is it to sort should the worse happen, never had to think about this sort of thing before. Best Way To Clean A Barrel
philpot replied to big napper's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
When I bought my HW100KT a couple of weeks ago, I was advised to clean the barrel as there may be some protective coating in the barrel. I was given thoughts on a pull through and cleaning pellets but with the HW I had to be careful not to pull the seal out of position as it is sited in the barrel so I phoned Hull Cartridge to see what they advised. They said to be VERY VERY careful with pull through cleaning and suggested cleaning pellets every time. The method was to spray 4 or 5 pellets with Napier Power Airgun oil, and fill the rest of the mag with dry pellets. Remove the mod and fire -
I do a lot of lure fishing for pike, perch, chub etc, in fact most fish and this bugger is the my best perch by a mile. A .177 lime green 3.5'' Kopyto soft plastic pellet got him Phil

It seems to work fine although having never used this method, it took a few mins to sort it out. I used to be a mad keen wildfowler many moons ago when the east coast marshes were open and trust me actually hitting the ducks and geese was not an easy task as you were shooting with no backdrop to know distances, usually in an uncomfortable position in the mud hide. Any birds taken were WELL earned. I knew two guys with punt guns and as said earlier, originally they were a means of scraping a living or at least something to eat for a poor family on the wash and I know for a fact that on most occasions the pound of lead shot had to be fired before getting back to shore as they were muzzl

Do you think there is enough pressure to really do that. If that is the case is there any reason for people to sift through tins selecting the best pellets. I have no idea, just a thought. Phil -

To say how popular the AA fields are, they do have a fair amount of damaged skirts in every tin. I am going to get some sample packs from another forum as one of the guys has a wide array of pellets to choose from, nice bloke as well. Phil -
Just offered £75 on the Vision King, rejected but would take £ so now I have a range finder. Another item ticked Phil

I am also on a quest to get a range finder and have found a couple that seem to fit the bill, one being a day/night finder. The first one does not say what the minimum range is but having spoken to the seller, I am advised that it starts at 3mt which sounds perfect. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262094722766?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT The Hawk 400 has gone up in price with a shop price tag of around £134 but the 400 is not waterproof. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hawke-400m-Compact-Digital-Laser-Range-Finder-Golf-Hunting-Shooting-6x-Zoom-/380672494262?has
