My brother arrived home 2 year ago with a 3/4 collie 1/4 hound with the idea of working it but never did i used to bring him out on the lamp if I had time to now he would never bite anyone or anything like that he's just so fecking hyper you'd have to it to believe all he need or needed was work and lots of it but I really didn't have time to when he dog need time its waste of what could have been a good dog its a pity that my dad or brother don't have interest in working lurchers its there for life with a good home tho

I think with any. Breed of lurcher that are work driven if ya don't give them what they need and want you'll have problems with built-up energy and Notting to do with it. Any dog could turn stupid if that a little terriers or a big wheaten or bull lurcher

I don't no this lad well that has the wheaten lurcher I see him a about every now and then but last time I was talking to him he was telling me that one of them is very unpredictable more so after it had it first fox but settle's down a bit after that and the more work ya give him the better he gets it only what I've been told as I have never seen one work atb bob

Are the wheaten terriers not a bit like the deerhounds thin on the ground not starting an argument or that but you hear some people say they have a wheaten lurcher and there only 1/8 wheaten in it I no of only one lad with a genuine wheaten lurcher its a second cross there was only two left out of the litter he told me as the rest did make grade and unfortunately there two dog

would he not try find genuine people that would put the work into them and not charge big money for them for the sake of the working deerhound and to keep a line going id give one ago if I had 850euro to blow on one but sadly at this moment in time I don't its not a dig at anybody as I don't no the man its just a thought

Ya that's a far point I could do with a second working lurcher but that means the old bitch has to go when I see her run and the speed has gone I sometimes think I should have done the right thing by her then u see her with my kids and think feck it she happy in herself so ill just have stick with her for a while longer and the one working lurcher

I think it easy to say but another thing to do it I had 3"lurcher one I had no choice to pts because she broke her back then last year my 7 year old lurcher done this to ligaments I was told it couldn't be fixed by vet the best thing was to pts but I couldn't do it to her she did Notting wrong the it happened and I'm a sort tit to go with that she now my son's best friend he's. Only 5 and she the bee's nees to him and she still get the odd rabbit I'm. Would the deerhound be more laid back then some of the other lurcher breeds I remember my grandads you wouldn't know she was there till u went to go lamping or a walking it was all go from then

I have a colliehoundxbullhound she took a lot to the collie I think very soft don't like shouting or been pick up she rather found her own way over or true thing

As the title say if could go back to one day or night what would it be me id like to see a waterloo cup before 90s and the ban in the UK and just see how different the hound wouldn't have been bored as the ground rock hard with no sign of rain

Like i said most of the ground I work over wouldn't suits but the open bogland the mountain bogs now I can see them come into their own then but with that price I could never see me having one and by the time I will be able to have one I think they be few and far between all the best bob

far point that I don't think a pure deerhound would suit most of the gound I hunt over but some it would and with the ban in the UK I couldn't see anyone paying 800 for one I just think it's a pity the way thing have gone with them I would have loved to see them do what they where meant for
