I have the use of a fist cross colliehound dog or pure working collie dog just can't find a collie bitch or colliehound bitch to use just a pity there ain't one going to breed a litter

As I've said on a couple of topics next summer or even this time next year I'll be looking out for a pup I'm hoping to come across. A 3/4 collie 1/4 hound if not it'll be a collie blooded lurcher is there anyone planning a litter like this out of genuine working parents atb bob

From reading about saluki's and sometimes there crosses it sound like there slow to mature so at ten months old I would have give the dog a bit more time I don't think I could or would judge any dog on one night/day when it could just be have an off day especially at ten months it not a go at anyone just my take on things as I've never owned a saluki's or anything with saluki in it

Its only park coursing there no open coursing in Ireland under rules is there

As far as i can make out of the law it illegal to course hare's in the rep.Ireland unless under club can one shed anymore light on this

A collie used for driving cattle would be my choice is that because they'd be that bit harder work wise

This might sound a stupid question but would u just use a collie like the leggie type's u see on some farms that work cattle and sheep or would u go for the sheep trialing one's to breed half crosses

dont think they where out together but where in the same area sounds like they where been watched for a while if they got pick up at the same time

Just heard on the radio 9 people arrested for hare coursing yesterday feck me the took everything dogs cars the lot and their still locked up .

Did u try letting her out when she been quite in her kennel as a reward any pup iv had is always in the house with me for the first 6 mouths slowly putting them outside for longer periods and i think it help's the pup to be confident and bond with me and get used to everyday life in my nut house I know that's not for everyone but it works for me

I have only two farms to lamp over the rest is just freelancing I think over here most farm don't mind you once you respect there land

With the front opened I'm thinking of the draft with just a bench in it think more of a box's with the the side opened

I'm going to start building new runs in the next few weeks hopefully I'm going to roof the whole lot but I want to leave the front of it open with a mesh gate and panel I stuck of bed box ideas I'm hope to have them hanging of the back wall for easy cleaning any ideas I hoping to get 3 10x12 run

ya that's the way I looked at till the this fecking terriers the lurcher don't bother be it was just bad luck with her and at 8 she doing no harm

It not so much the retired lurcher she in the house if I got shot of her my daughter would never talk to me again its the fecking terrier the problem it just gone 3 and I don't think its going to getting any better at this stage but it taken up space I could do with feck dogs ha

I have 5 dogs around me now two lurchers two terriers and a cocker one lurcher is retired with injury and one of the terriers is just a pain only hunts when he feel like it the the other lurcher is laid up at the minute so im kind of out of kennel space now if this was say 5/6 years ago then lurcher and terrier would have been on there way but I cant seem to make that decision now even tho I could do with the kennel space

My old dog is almost 3/4 Collie with the remainder being just lurcher blood,I hope you find what your looking for & have the same enjoyment I have had and still do get from my cur cross ? I like the look of him my brother has something similar to him unfortunately he never done anything with with and he's only a pet really but the few times I've had him out he's done ok I no two lad with half cross but they don't or won't put them over a collie speed ain't everything one most of the ground around me

When I was reading this and thinking about the dogs I've I never realised all bar two had collie in them I don't know why but I'm think or hoping my next dog in a year or so will be a 3/4collie hound this sort of the dog I'd like and even a smallish deerhound type come to think of it once they catch something in happy. Haha but all mine have been no bigger than 24"25" not small not to big

by the way my grandad does talk i think it was more the freedom he had to roam even as a kid but with a dog

He said something about a 5 gallon brum and rope for shoulder straps some type of car light ill be up with him later getting his dog to go lamping ill ask him we used to do that with the guns too walk down the middle of town dont think i was even old enough to have a license dont think you'd get aways with it now
