  6. i thought i was tight i had to buy a dog gaurd for my defender lol why didnt i think of that
  7. again complements on the bitch id be tempted to find a stud dog that was 1/2 whippet 1/4 greyhound 1/4 bull to put over here you dont want to dilute that bull to much or you could end up with a pup just for rabbits which there is nothing wrong with just that im guessing you want to run bigger game also hence the bullcross youve got now just remember dont rush into breeding her if you cant find the stud you want waight till her next season and look in advance so every thing is in place never breed for convienience breed for workers goodluck in your search it may be a long jerny
  8. take the bitch of the pups at six weeks and let her dry up while doing so gentle exercise then once here teats are rising start getting her fit again there is no time scale on it every bitch is different but aslong as the bitch is healthy it shouldnt take to long before shes back to here previous form
  9. Is there any statistical proof that 1 inbreeding could cause heart defects ?....the myths surrounding inbreeding are never based on fact....whenever people talk of inbreeding in dogs they compare it to inbreeding in humans...and its so unrealistic its just not worth comparing.....ive seen dogs bred for generations from close families that are very inbred with no physical problems....the important part is being extremely selective on the individuals you breed from.....a father daughter, even a brother sister mating from scatterbred or crossed dogs is inbreeding yes,but is nowhere near as tight
  10. put them on a teather is my advice a head strong terrier is ok while kept in line all the time but as soon as your distracted your no longer distracting them and there off try them at a bit of earth work there of age that will often calm them down or at least make them contempt that they have a purppose in live
  11. it looks to me like there may be a bit of something in there thorn or something along them lines i dont think it looks to seriouse exspecially if its a dry wound if you still not happy with it in a few days nip down vets but in the meane time soake it in warm salt water see if that draws anything out and just keep it clean
  12. theres no such thing as breeding to close in the animal kingdom the word inbred is a human made up thing to do with polotics look at our native animals the badger for example they breed very close without barly any wastage but one thing that i will say make sure the dogs are upto scratch before mating this close cause like said previously all traights get magnified not just the good please dont breed for convienience breed for workers and you are half way there
  13. either one off them its quite important that i get in tougch with him so if anybody has any details it would be appreciated it looks like hes been deleted from this site thankyou

  16. nothing wrong with starting a young terrier of on the rats before it matures to work to ground but for the rabbits i keep my terriers as far away as possible theres nothing that can spoil a good days digging more than a terrier messing around with rabbits
